Job summary

Volvo Group India is hiring a Supplier Quality Engineer for electronics and electromechanics in Bengaluru. You will work with supply network partners to secure premium quality parts and drive APQP/PPAP milestones in a fast-paced automotive environment.

The role requires a degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, strong quality mindset, and willingness to travel to partner sites as needed. You will collaborate across decentralised teams to deliver robust, sustainable solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in supplier quality, preferably in automotive.
  • Strong knowledge of APQP/PPAP processes.

  • Manage quality of electromechanical and electronic components from suppliers.
  • Lead APQP activities and PPAP submissions with suppliers.
  • Drive containment, corrective and preventive actions for quality issues.

Requirements

The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is responsible to perform quality assurance activities with external supply network partners of Volvo Group in order to secure purchased components meet design specifications. We look for a candidate who enjoys the varying tasks of an SQE role, has strong commitment, works well both alone and in teams and can handle a high pace. Since travelling to supply network partners is a frequent activity, our candidate enjoys travelling and meeting new people, shall master communication both written and spoken and being able to handle multiple simultaneous projects.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage portfolio of electromechanics and electronics supply network partners, responsible for the complete quality of parts
  • Early involvement in supply network partner selection process
  • Ensure APQP is performed and proceeding in accordance to required project timing and the risks are mitigated
  • Verify and lead all APQP deliverables and approve PPAP submissions and tooling
  • Secure the capacity & ramp up plan and implement Firewall / Pre-launch controls to ensure smooth SOP launch
  • Drive the Quality concerns raised from Volvo plants with quick containment & secure corrective and permanent / preventive actions
  • Lead transformation activities on sustainability and digitalization within SNQ
  • Lead the evaluation and continuous improvement of supply network partners
Competence And Experience
  • University degree in Electrical and Electronics / Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience in supplier quality preferably from Automotive background
  • Strong technical knowledge and manufacturing know how in Electronics and Electromechanical components / Thermal systems & HVAC Examples: Automotive Wiring Harness, Motors, Alternators / HVAC system, Automotive cooling package etc
  • Experience in software development / ASPICE assessor is an added advantage
  • Continuous improvement, Problem solving and solution oriented mindset
  • Ability to work and deliver results independently
  • Strong networking and collaboration skills
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
