As Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for inspection at different stages of manufacturing, viz. raw material / in-process / final inspection as per approved documentation to assure that all the products meet ACIPL / CPC Pumps Customer specifications / National and International Codes & Standards. Quality Engineer is required to co-ordinate with Vendors, Customer / TPIA, Internal Team Members for inspection related activities
To fulfill our commitments, a Quality Engineer must possess the following skills
- Responsible for Supplier Quality and inspection activities according to drawings, Material Specifications, SOPs / Work Instructions, inspection and test plans, procedures.
- Good Knowledge of raw material – Castings, forgings, pipes, plates, flanges, fittings, structural sections.
- Review of various Material Test certificates as per Project requirement and applicable National & International Codes, Specifications.
- Need to understand Client Job specification, procedures, ITP, Drawings (GA, P&ID) and implementing during execution.
- Should have in-depth knowledge of checking critical parameters of inspection stages / manufacturing activities like machining inspection, Weld joint set-up, welding, pressure / leak testing, visual & dimensional, painting, assembly of package, packing inspection.
- Witness / review NDT activities, Lab testing, Type test reports, pressure / leak testing, performance testing, functional testing, painting & coating
- Responsible for the review & compilation of all quality documentation such as 3.1 Material Test Certificates, Heat Treatment Charts, Visual Inspection Reports, NDT Reports ( LPT/RT/UT as applicable ) , Casting / Fabrication Dimensional Inspection Reports, Case Wall Thickness Reports, Finish machined components dimensional inspection report , WPS/PQR etc prior to release of components / parts for further processing and after the acceptance by the Customer in case of witness activities.
- Inspection co-ordination and punch list closure on real time basis with Vendor and Customer / TPIA.
To succeed, you will need
Experience requirements/ Knowledge
- You should have experience of 7-8 years in the areas of Inspection, Quality function in Manufacturing, Oil and Gas, petrochemical industries, with experience in fabrication/piping/welding/ pump parts such as Casing, Casing Cover, Impellers, Shafts, Bearing Housing, Wear Rings, C class Items, Base Plates, Column Pipes, Discharge Pipes, Nozzle heads etc.
- Hands on experience of handling measuring instruments like Vernier, Inside / Outside Micrometre , Bore Dial Gauge, Height Gauge, Depth Gauge / Depth micrometre, Gauge Well, Thread Plug Gauge / Thread Ring Gauge. Also need knowledge of geometrical parameters inspection on machine & with CMM / Fero arm.
- Good knowledge of casting process, precision machining and NDT inspection of large pump, compressor components
- Good understanding of various quality improvement tools & techniques : 7 QC tools, Kaizen, 5S etc.
- Good knowledge of SAP
- Good knowledge / handling of testing instruments & calibration procedures.
- Good knowledge on QMS requirements, Corrective Actions with Root Cause Analysis
- Knowledge of various Codes & Standards – IS / ASME / API / TEMA etc.
Educational requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical engineering with experience in Quality Assurance & Control.
- Certification in Welding & Painting inspection is an asset
