Responsibilities

• Supervise daily maintenance activities of technicians and contractors.
• Execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance per schedules.
• Restore equipment promptly during breakdowns to minimize losses.
• Monitor machine performance and identify reliability improvements.
• Diagnose CNC and conventional machine issues (hydraulic/pneumatic/CNC).
• Maintain welding, rolling, shot blasting, furnaces, and painting equipment.

• Furnaces

To ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of heavy-duty CNC machines, conventional machine tools, fabrication equipment, cranes, and utility systems through effective planning and execution of preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities. The role involves supervising maintenance technicians, coordinating resources, ensuring compliance with EHS requirements, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and availability.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Execution

• Supervise and coordinate daily maintenance activities of technicians and contractors.
• Execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance as per maintenance schedules.
• Ensure timely restoration of equipment during breakdown situations to minimize production losses.
• Monitor machine performance and identify opportunities for reliability improvement.
  

CNC & Conventional Machine Maintenance

• Provide hands‑on support for maintenance and troubleshooting of:
• CNC Boring Machines
• Horizontal Boring Machines (HBM)
• Milling Machines
• Vertical Turning Lathes (VTL)
• Horizontal Turning Lathes (HTL)
• Gantry‑Type Machines
• Conventional Machine Tools
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and CNC‑related issues.
  

Fabrication Equipment Maintenance

• Maintain and troubleshoot fabrication equipment such as:

• Oversee maintenance of:

Safety and Compliance

• Ensure strict adherence to EHS policies, safe work practices, and permit‑to‑work systems.
• Conduct risk assessment before execution of maintenance activities.
• Ensure safe working practices during work at height and crane maintenance activities.
• Support compliance with ISO, OHSAS, EMS, and other statutory requirements.
  

Planning & Resource Management

• Plan manpower deployment and allocate daily maintenance activities.
• Coordinate with production teams for maintenance planning and shutdown activities.
• Maintain optimum spare parts inventory and critical spares availability.
• Coordinate with Stores, Purchase, and external service providers for procurement and execution of maintenance activities.
  

Documentation & SAP

• Maintain maintenance records, checklists, machine history cards, and inspection reports.
• Raise material requisitions, purchase indents, and service requests through SAP/ERP systems.
• Ensure proper documentation of maintenance activities and equipment history.
  

Reliability & Continuous Improvement

• Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Why-Why Analysis, and failure investigations.
• Implement corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence of failures.
• Participate in TPM, Kaizen, 5S, and other continuous improvement initiatives.
• Recommend modifications and improvement projects to enhance equipment reliability, safety, and efficiency.
  

Training & Development

• Support development of SOPs and maintenance procedures.
• Train and mentor technicians in maintenance best practices and troubleshooting techniques.
• Promote knowledge sharing and skill enhancement within the maintenance team.
