Job summary

Citco is seeking a senior fund accounting professional to join our Fund Administration team in India. You will prepare and review financial statements under GAAP/IFRS, lead engagements, ensure accurate disclosures, and coordinate year-end processes across global offices.

Ideal candidates have 5–7 years of asset management accounting experience, strong knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS for alternative funds, and proficiency with Excel, Bloomberg, and MS Office. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Five to seven years of asset management accounting experience in an Audit Firm, Hedge Fund, Hedge Fund Administrator or other financial institution.
• Experience with Financial Statement review and/or preparation.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and IFRS, especially related to the alternative funds industry.
• Advanced knowledge in complex derivatives.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics; CPA/CA preferred.
• Ability to travel as necessary and excellent written communication.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review annual, semi-annual, and quarterly financial statements in accordance with GAAP or IFRS.
• Lead engagements including planning, budgeting, client relationship management and staff delegation.
• Ensure accuracy of footnote disclosures and review fund documents for proper disclosures.
• Present findings internally, with clients and auditors; coordinate year-end processes.
• Identify issues, investigate independently and propose solutions to the team.
• Prepare and review reports; create adhoc client reports; troubleshoot fund accounting issues.
• Identify opportunities for new clients and value-added service enhancements.
• Provide guidance to team members to strengthen knowledge areas.

Responsibilities

Your Role

• Under limited supervision, prepare and review annual, semi-annual and quarterly financial statements in accordance with GAAP or IFRS, as required.
• Lead assigned engagements including planning, budgeting, client relationship management and delegating to staff. Monitor and report out-of-scope time.
• Ensure accuracy of footnote disclosures in accordance with accounting, reporting, and regulatory standards. Review legal documents governing the fund to ensure appropriate financial statement disclosure structure.
• Present to or exchange information internally, with clients and outside auditors. Coordinate year-end financial statement process. Contribute to identifying, researching, and communicating recent authoritative pronouncements to CFS offices globally.
• Identify errors or problems and independently investigate; recommend solutions to team members or managers.
• Writing and/or reviewing various reports related to engagements. Prepare adhoc reports for the client upon request. Troubleshoot Fund Accounting issues. Attend meetings and training to enhance knowledge to be passed down to the Financial Reporting Staff and Senior Accountants.
• Recognize and communicate potential opportunities for new clients as well as value added service enhancements for existing clients and management. Assist manager in preparing Request for Proposals for prospective clients.
• Provide guidance to team members to motivate and help strengthen specific knowledge areas needed to accomplish team goals.

Qualifications

About You

• Five to seven years of asset management accounting experience in either an Audit Firm, Hedge Fund, Hedge Fund Administrator or other financial institution where the accountant has gained financial products knowledge
• Previous Financial Statement review and/or preparation experience
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and IFRS, pronouncements specifically related to the alternative funds industry, is required
• Advanced knowledge in complex derivatives
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics
• CPA, CA or other professional designation preferred
• Ability to travel as necessary
• Good communication and writing skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products such as Excel and Word
• Proficient in navigating Bloomberg
• Team oriented
