Job summary

IGT is seeking an experienced QA professional in Chennai to drive end-to-end testing for modules and releases. The role emphasizes API testing, SQL-based data validation, and AI-assisted testing to enhance coverage and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of experience in software testing or quality engineering.
• Strong hands‑on experience in API testing.
• Good experience with database testing and SQL queries.
• Strong understanding of test design techniques, test execution, defect lifecycle, and QA processes.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
• Basic understanding of AI-assisted testing concepts and practical usage of AI tools in QA activities.
• Ability to use AI tools responsibly for test design, defect investigation, documentation, and productivity improvement.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of end-to-end testing activities for assigned modules, features, and releases.
• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test cases for functional, integration, API, database validation, and AI-assisted testing scenarios.
• Perform advanced API testing, including request and response validation, status code verification, schema validation, authentication checks, and negative testing.
• Conduct database and data validation testing using SQL queries to verify data accuracy, consistency, and integrity.
• Use AI tools to support test case generation, test data creation, defect analysis, log review, and test coverage improvement.
• Apply AI-assisted approaches to identify testing gaps, improve regression coverage, and accelerate QA activities.
• Contribute to test strategy, test planning, estimation, execution, defect reporting, and test closure activities.
• Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, business analysts, DevOps, and QA team members.
• Act as a quality champion by identifying risks early and supporting high-quality delivery.
• Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Understand system architecture, data flow, integrations, dependencies, and technical workflows to improve test coverage.
• Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and debugging for defects, production issues, and testing blockers.
• Track, document, and communicate defects clearly with relevant logs, screenshots, API payloads, database evidence, and AI-assisted analysis where applicable.
• Support continuous improvement in QA processes, tools, automation, and AI-enabled testing practices.
