Job summary

IGT is seeking a seasoned JavaScript Developer to help build triple-A casino games delivered online through a non-gambling, virtual currency casino. You’ll join a team delivering authentic IGT games with emphasis on scalability, reliability, and secure payments.

We look for strong architectural experience, deep Java enterprise knowledge, and hands-on ability with Spring, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud concepts. This role requires leadership and a passion for high‑quality software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Typically 12+ years of software engineering experience, with leadership or architecture responsibility.
• Strong expertise in Java and related enterprise technologies.
• Experience designing distributed, microservices, event-driven architectures.
• Proficiency with REST APIs, OpenAPI and API security.
• Hands-on with Spring/Spring Boot, messaging like Kafka or JMS.
• Knowledge of SQL databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL) and data modelling.
• Experience with CI/CD, Git, Gradle/Maven, and release automation.
• Familiarity with Docker/Podman and Kubernetes; TLS/mTLS and cryptography basics.
• Cloud concepts (AWS/Azure/GCP) and centralized logging/monitoring basics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Typically 12+ years of software engineering experience**, including significant technical leadership or architecture responsibility.
• Strong expertise in Java and related enterprise technologies
• Experience designing enterprise, distributed, microservices, event-driven, and integration architectures.
• Proficiency in REST APIs, OpenAPI, API security, and versioning.
• Hands‑on experience with Spring, Spring Boot, or similar enterprise frameworks.
• Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka or JMS.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL, and data modelling.
• Familiarity with JBoss, WildFly, or comparable application servers.
• Experience with Git, Gradle/Maven, CI/CD pipelines, and release automation.
• Understanding of Docker/Podman and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of TLS/mTLS, certificates, encryption, secrets management, and IAM.
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP architecture concepts.
• Experience with centralized logging, metrics, tracing, and monitoring.
• Ability to create UML, sequence, C4, and other architecture diagrams and maintain clear technical documentation.
• Strong hands‑on background in enterprise software development.
• Experience designing distributed, highly available systems.
• Demonstrated experience taking solutions from architecture through production deployment.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
• Strong understanding of high-volume, real‑time transaction‑processing systems.
• Knowledge of payment transaction lifecycles including authorization, reversal, settlement and reconciliation.
• Experience with ISO 8583 or comparable financial messaging standards.
• Understanding of POS/payment‑terminal integrations and external payment processors.
• Knowledge of payment security and cryptography.
• Understanding of HSM integration and cryptographic key‑management concepts.
• Familiarity with PCI DSS requirements.
• Experience designing highly available transaction systems where downtime and transaction loss have significant business impact.
• Understanding of idempotency, retries, duplicate transaction handling, store‑and‑forward, timeout handling and transaction recovery.
• Ability to design systems supporting multiple processors, acquirers, networks or external payment integrations.
