Description

Essential Functions:

1. Maintain essential IT operations, including operating systems, O365 systems, Servers and Storage, Virtualization and cloud infrastructure.
2. Planning, design, documentation, implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of business systems, including servers, operating systems, servers and storage, virtualization, and hosted environments.
3. Act as an escalation resource within the administrator or helpdesk teams and coordinate with the Manager on department workflow. Knowledge of infrastructural architectural concepts.
4. Oversee daily system monitoring: Verify the integrity and availability of all server resources, systems, and key processes such as scheduled backup jobs and patching.
5. Proactively monitor system performance to provide capacity planning and optimization recommendations.
6. Participate in scheduled IT maintenance activities and coordination and execution of assigned tasks and maintenance activities.
7. Provide input and recommendations on new potential technology solutions based on research and analysis.
8. Work with cybersecurity professionals to maintain security compliance.
9. Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Skills needed to be successful:

1. Advanced troubleshooting workflow and knowledge of troubleshooting tools. Ability to solve problems with a consistent, measured approach.
2. Must be able to multitask and maintain a positive attitude when working under pressure.
3. Proficient in writing scripts (PowerShell, VBScripts, Batch Scripts).
4. Strong knowledge of Windows Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, O365 administration, and configuration.
5. Managing server virtualization technologies like VMWare Server/ESX or Microsoft Hyper-V/Virtual Server.
6. Strong knowledge of networking concepts and Firewall security, including iSCSI configuration, SAN setup, and disk performance management.
7. Good working knowledge of Azure.
8. Knowledge of infrastructural architectural concepts.
9. Working knowledge of Enterprise Backup Solutions.

Required Experience & Education:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or other equivalent work experience.
2. Minimum of 5-7+ years of experience in systems administration.
3. 5+ years’ experience with supporting and troubleshooting VMWare and Microsoft Azure.
4. Experience in infrastructure architecture, data centers, and servers.
5. Strong understanding of multiple technologies, including but not limited to Server hardware & Server OS, Virtualization, VMWare, Hyper-Converged Infrastructure, Office365.

Preferred Experience & Education:

1. 5+ years’ experience with VMWare Administration and Microsoft Azure.
2. Hands-on experience with HP & Dell Servers and storage boxes.
3. System administration and IT certifications in Microsoft, VMware, ITIL, or other related fields is a plus.
