Cleantech Industry Resources is seeking a senior electrical designer/engineer in Chennai with 7+ years in power distribution and high voltage substations. The role emphasizes substation design, drawings, and protection/control schemes for 69kV–345kV projects, with familiarity with NEC, NFPA, IEC, and IEEE standards.

Experience in renewable energy projects such as wind, solar, or energy storage is considered an asset.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 7+ years progressive experience in design and engineering with power distribution and/or HV substations.
• Knowledge of electrical substation design and standards (NEC, NFPA, IEC, IEEE, ANSI).
• Experience with renewable energy projects (wind, solar, energy storage) is a plus.

Mansioni

• Prepare general arrangement and elevation views, diagrams, layouts (lighting, earthing, cables, and control building).
• Perform load calculations, cable sizing, UPS/battery sizing, and protection/control calculations.
• Prepare Technical Specifications and detailed BoQ meeting IEC/ANSI/IEEE and client requirements.
• Provide grounding analysis and engineering reports; review substations equipment and drawings.

• Knowledge of electrical substation equipment
• 7+ years progressive experience in design and engineering with power distribution and/or high voltage substations.
• Experience in Renewable (Wind, Solar & Energy Storage) will be considered as an asset.
• Experience on various substation projects from 69kV up to 345kV and/or a strong understanding of electrical distribution systems. Extensive experience with electrical substation design.
• Familiarity with NEC, NFPA, IBC, IEC, IEEE, ANSI standards.

Role Requirements

• Preparation of the general arrangement and elevation view, erection key diagram, trench plan, lightning protection layout, earthing layout, illumination layout, single line diagram, three-line diagram, protection line diagram, control building layout.
• Preparation of auxiliary load calculation, AC & DC cable sizing calculation and schedule, UPS, Battery and battery charger sizing calculation, Control cable schedule, direct stroke lightning protection calculation, earthing calculation, short circuit force and cantilever strength calculation.
• Preparation of Technical Specification of substation equipment.
• Preparation of detailed BoQ which meets the requirement of client, IEC, ANSI & IEEE.
• Preparation of Scope of Work
• Grounding analysis using software.
• Perform engineering calculation and report.
• Review and approval of all substations related equipment.
• Review and quality assurance of protection and control design drawings assuring both client and IEC, ANSI, and IEEE requirements are met.
• Provide leadership, training and mentoring to less experienced engineers and team members.
