Job summary

HSBC is seeking an experienced Subject Matter Expert to strengthen controls across exceptions, reconciliations, QA and pairing. You will work with stakeholders to implement strategic solutions and develop dashboards for key KPIs and risk indicators.

The role requires knowledge of trade lifecycle, OTC derivatives and global reporting standards. Strong communication and project-management skills are essential for success at HSBC India.

Qualifications

• Degree in banking, finance, or risk management is required.
• Understanding of end-to-end trade lifecycle and OTC derivatives.
• Familiarity with regulatory reporting standards is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor controls across exceptions, reconciliations, QA and pairing. Mitigate mis-reporting risks identified by controls.
• Escalate issues and collaborate with stakeholders to implement strategic solutions. Create management dashboards to highlight KPIs and risk indicators.
• Respond to counterparty queries and ensure timely, accurate reporting. Manage audit and business queries within SLA.
• Create requirements for IT/regulatory change solutions and test them for business acceptance.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Subject Matter Expert. In this role, you will:

• Implement and monitor controls across exceptions, reconciliations, quality assurance and pairing & matching. Mitigate under-reporting, over-reporting, and mis-reporting risks identified by controls.
• Escalate identified issues and work with various stakeholders to implement strategic solutions. Create management information dashboards to highlight key performance indicators and risk indicators.
• Respond to counterparty queries and exchange information for accurate reporting. Manage audit and business queries within agreed Service Level Agreement response time.
• Create requirements for IT/regulatory change solutions and test them for business acceptance.
• They are responsible for ensuring that HSBC’s various reporting obligations (HKMA, ASIC/MAS, MIFID, EMIR, SFTR, CFTC, CSA, SEC) are met in a timely and accurate fashion.

To be successful you will:

• A degree in banking / finance / risk management. Understanding of end-to-end trade lifecycle and characteristics of typical OTC Derivative products.
• Strong foundation of risk management principles and understanding of controls framework.
• Awareness of the global regulatory landscape and key aspects of various Trade and Transactions Reporting regulations.

What additional skills will be good to have?

• Knowledge of ETL tools (QlikView, Power BI)
• Coding skills in VBA, Python, SQL.
• Proficiency in project management and workflow tools (JIRA, MS projects, MS SharePoint, Confluence)
