Malhotra Book Depot is seeking an SME-English editor to review, proofread, and rewrite manuscripts while coordinating with graphics, DTP, and production teams to deliver polished books. The role requires strong English grammar, written and spoken proficiency, and effective communication with stakeholders.

Candidates should have 2+ years in publishing or teaching, with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and solid MS Office skills to support content creation and quality control across manuscripts and

• 2+ years of experience in publishing or teaching.
• Excellent knowledge of English grammar.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders.

Responsabilidades

• Review, proofread and rewrite manuscripts as needed.
• Create content for books, refreshers, workbooks, and question papers per instructions.
• Provide inputs to authors to improve manuscripts.
• Ensure spelling, grammar and punctuation accuracy.
• Edit to maintain UK/US English consistency.
• Coordinate with graphics, DTP and production teams to assemble final product.
• Write blurbs and front matter and back matter of titles.
• Research and authenticate facts, dates and statistics.
• Assess and approve cover designs.
• Evaluate content of a manuscript and review each component before starting a project.
• Create storyboards for animation projects and review related videos.

Job Requirements: (SME-English)

• Review, proofread and rewrite (wherever needed) manuscripts provided by authors.
• Create content for books, refreshers, workbooks, question papers, etc. according to the instructions provided.
• Provide inputs to authors to improve manuscripts.
• Review content for accuracy in spelling, grammar usage and punctuation.
• Edit to check consistency in the use of English (UK/US).
• Maintained publication style using approved style guidelines.
• Ensure that all freelancers and vendors provide quality content.
• Coordinate with graphics, DTP and production departments to put together the final product.
• Write blurbs and front matter and back matter of the titles.
• Research and authenticate facts, dates and statistics.
• Assess and approve cover designs.
• Evaluate content of a manuscript and review each component of the original MS before starting a project.
• Create storyboards for animation projects; review and finalize animation videos and related activities.

Qualification and Experience:

• Bachelors and\or Masters Degree
• Minimum 2 years of experience in publishing or teaching
• Excellent knowledge of English grammar
• Working knowledge of Microsoft office
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
