Job summary

Caterpillar Bangalore is seeking an experienced Structure Engineer for Detail Design and site commissioning in oil and gas projects. You will lead structural design work, develop 3D models, prepare fabrication drawings, and support commissioning activities in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

The role requires a strong background in ASCE 7, IBC, AISC, OSHA standards, and extensive experience with Advance Steel, Revit, Tekla, and STAAD Pro.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6-8 years of Oil & Gas / Power Plant experience.
• Knowledge of ASCE 7, IBC, AISC, OSHA standards and their application.
• 3D modelling and fabrication drawing generation using CAD software.
• Vendor drawings review and MTO/BOM from 3D models.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design for Oil & Gas/EPC projects and packaging.
• Provide shop floor support for assembly, shipping and commissioning.
• Perform 3D modelling, 2D drawings and fabrication drawings.
• Monitor structural behaviour during load/operational testing.
• Recommend field modifications and resolve commissioning issues.
