Job summary

Jobitus is seeking an experienced Operations Leader in Raipur to direct end-to-end hot rolling mill and structural finishing operations. You will optimize yields and energy use while maintaining schedules and quality across TMT, angles, channels, and beams.

You will oversee roll shop design, TPM implementation, and safety/compliance programs, leading a cross-functional team with SAP-based reporting to ensure high-capacity utilization and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 15 to 20+ years of experience in steel production and operations leadership.
• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Direct end-to-end hot rolling mill and structural finishing operations, ensuring output and adherence to production schedules.
• Oversee roll pass design and roll shop operations, implementing TPM to prevent downtime of mill stands and machinery.
• Ensure all profiles (TMT, Angles, Channels, Beams) meet BIS/ASTM and structural quality standards.
• Enforce safety protocols for hot metal handling, shift operations, and compliance with Factory Acts and pollution norms.
• Lead cross-functional team of production engineers, maintenance crews, and shift operators with ERP-based reporting (SAP).

• Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering

• Industry: Steel Manufacturing / Heavy Rolled Products / Structural Steel

• Operations Leadership: Direct end-to-end hot rolling mill and structural finishing operations, ensuring optimal daily output, high capacity utilization, and adherence to production schedules.

• Yield & Cost Optimization: Monitor and improve rolling yields, minimize scale loss/scrap, and control thermal/electrical energy consumption (reheating furnace efficiency).

• Roll Shop & Maintenance: Oversee roll pass design, roll shop operations, and implement Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) to prevent downtime of critical mill stands and machinery.

• Quality Assurance: Ensure all manufactured profiles (TMT, Angles, Channels, Beams) meet stringent BIS, ASTM, and structural quality standards.

• Safety & Compliance (EHS): Enforce strict safety protocols for hot metal handling, continuous shifts, and ensure complete compliance with Factory Acts and Pollution Control norms.

• Team & Resource Management: Lead a cross-functional team of production engineers, maintenance crews, and shift operators; manage labor relations and ERP-based reporting (SAP).
