Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC in Bangalore, India is seeking a Strategic Finance Analyst to join the growing R&D Finance team. You will partner with R&D leaders to manage budgeting, headcount planning, and opex for a major cost center within a global SaaS organization.

You'll work with FP&A, Accounting, and R&D leadership to support planning and reporting, with a clear path to senior finance roles as you expand scope and impact.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of FP&A experience in a high-growth SaaS/tech environment.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the R&D budget, headcount plan, and opex forecast.
• Track actuals vs budget for R&D cost centers and prepare variance commentary.
• Support headcount planning and hiring pipeline for R&D.
• Maintain monthly BI deliverables, dashboards, and spend summaries.
• Support capitalized software development cost tracking and R&D tax credit docs.
• Perform data imports and model updates in Pigment for planning.
• Collaborate with R&D, Corporate FP&A, and Accounting for consistent reporting.
• Identify automation to improve efficiency in R&D reporting.
• Apply GenAI tools to reduce manual effort in reporting and forecasting.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Strategic Finance Analyst to join our growing R&D Finance team, supporting the finance function embedded within our global Engineering and Product organization. This role will partner closely with R&D leaders to drive budgeting, headcount planning, and opex management for one of the company's largest cost centers.

This is an exciting opportunity to gain deep exposure to financial planning within a high-growth, global SaaS environment. You'll work closely with team members in FP&A, Accounting, and R&D leadership to support core deliverables that inform how the company invests in its engineering and product roadmap.

This is a full-time hybrid position in Bangalore, India. You'll collaborate with global colleagues across multiple time zones and functions, including our Corporate FP&A and R&D leadership teams based in the US.

Your analysis will feed directly into R&D leadership reviews and executive/board-level reporting, giving you early, hands-on visibility into how a high-growth SaaS company plans and defends its largest cost center. This role also offers a clear growth path to Senior Finance Analyst / R&D Finance Manager as you build scope and track record.

What You’ll Do

• Partner with R&D (Engineering, Product, Design) leaders and Corporate FP&A to help build and maintain the company’s R&D budget, headcount plan, and opex forecast.

• Track actuals against budget for R&D cost centers, investigating variances and preparing monthly variance commentary for R&D leadership.

• Support headcount planning and tracking for the R&D organization, including hiring pipeline, backfills, and contractor/vendor spend.

• Maintain and refresh recurring R&D Finance deliverables, including monthly business reviews, dashboards, and spend summaries, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.

• Support capitalized software development cost tracking and R&D tax credit documentation in partnership with Accounting.

• Perform scheduled imports, model updates, and data entry in the company's FP&A platform, Pigment, for R&D-specific planning models.

• Partner cross‑functionally with stakeholders in R&D, Corporate FP&A, and Accounting to ensure consistent and reliable reporting across business units.

• Identify and implement automation or process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce manual work in R&D reporting and budget tracking.

• Apply AI and automation tools (GenAI assistants, Pigment's Analyst Agent, lightweight scripting) to reduce manual effort in R&D reporting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

Skills We’re Looking For

• 2+ years of experience in FP&A, ideally supporting an engineering, product, and/ or IT organization in a high-growth SaaS or tech environment.

• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and a focus on accuracy.

• Proficiency with Google Workspace, especially Google Sheets and Slides. (Advanced spreadsheet skills like pivot tables, formulas, and charts are essential.)

• Familiarity with financial planning tools; experience with Pigment or Anaplan is a strong plus.

• Comfort working with headcount, opex, and vendor spend data across large, complex cost centers.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to manage deliverables across time zones and with technical, non-finance stakeholders (e.g., engineering leaders).

• Comfortable working with structured datasets and recurring reporting cycles.
