Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Stock Plan Manager (Equity Compensation & Global Stock Plan Administration) based in India.

This is a senior, globally focused role responsible for managing equity compensation programs across multiple countries and employee populations.

You will oversee the administration of RSUs, PSUs, ESPPs, and other equity events while maintaining accurate participant and plan records.

The role combines operational ownership with global tax, regulatory, accounting, payroll, and reporting responsibilities.

You will collaborate closely with HR, Payroll, Finance, Accounting, Legal, auditors, brokers, and external service providers.

A key part of the position is ensuring strong controls, accurate reporting, and compliance across a complex multinational equity environment.

You will also identify opportunities to automate processes, improve scalability, and enhance the participant experience.

The role is well suited to a detail-oriented equity compensation professional who can operate independently while managing high-impact, cross-functional priorities.

Accountabilities

• Manage the day-to-day administration of global equity compensation programs, including RSUs, PSUs, and ESPPs.
• Administer grants, vesting events, releases, cancellations, terminations, and other equity transactions while maintaining accurate participant records.
• Coordinate stock plan activities across 14 countries and work with HR, Payroll, Finance, Legal, and external vendors to support global equity operations.
• Support global tax compliance, withholding obligations, local filings, registrations, and regulatory requirements related to equity compensation.
• Monitor regulatory developments and recommend appropriate changes to plans, processes, or controls.
• Partner with Global Payroll to validate taxable equity events, withholding calculations, payroll reporting, and related reconciliations.
• Support payroll audits as well as quarterly and year-end reporting activities.
• Partner with Finance and Accounting teams on ASC 718 stock compensation accounting, close activities, share-based compensation disclosures, and equity roll-forward schedules.
• Reconcile stock plan data against accounting reports and transfer agent records and support internal and external audits.
• Manage annual equity processes, including new-hire grants, promotion grants, annual refresh grants, and performance award settlements.
• Assist with share reserve forecasting and dilution analysis.
• Identify opportunities to improve controls, scalability, operational efficiency, and the overall participant experience.
• Document and maintain stock plan procedures, controls, and operational processes.
• Evaluate and support automation initiatives and technology enhancements that improve equity administration.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 8–15+ years of experience in stock plan or equity compensation administration, preferably within a public-company environment.
• Demonstrated experience administering ESPP and RSU programs and managing global equity programs across multiple countries.
• Hands-on experience with Equity Edge Online.
• Strong understanding of global equity compensation processes, tax requirements, and reporting obligations.
• Knowledge of SEC reporting requirements, Section 16 compliance, Rule 144, Rule 10b5-1 plans, and global equity taxation is preferred.
• Understanding of SOX controls and audit requirements is an advantage.
• Experience managing multinational equity programs across 10 or more countries is preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills with strong capabilities in data analysis, reconciliation, and reporting.
• Certified Equity Professional (CEP) designation is a plus.
• Experience with AI, automation, or technology-enabled process improvements is advantageous.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when handling sensitive financial and employee information.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a structured approach to identifying and resolving discrepancies.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across Finance, Payroll, HR, Legal, and other teams.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a geographically distributed, cross-functional environment.
