Pratham Education Foundation in Assam seeks a State MME Associate to strengthen measurement, monitoring, and evaluation for its education programs. Based in Guwahati, the role supports data collection, analysis, and reporting across state initiatives.
You will train field teams, monitor program implementation, and ensure data quality while collaborating with diverse stakeholders. Fluency in English/Hindi; Assamese preferred, and willingness to travel are expected.
Pratham Education Foundation (Pratham) is one of the largest education NGOs in India with a record of innovative, rigorously evaluated programs that have inspired similar programs across three continents. With a history spanning 30 years, Pratham’s work today extends from programs for early and elementary years to girls and women, and youth skilling. Through programs covering 25 states and Union Territories, in an average year, Pratham usually reaches over 6 million children and youth. This is achieved through a combination of efforts: directly working with children and youth in communities, as well as through collaborations with state and district-level governments.
Pratham has received notable awards such as the Lui Che Woo Prize, WISE Prize for Innovation, Skoll Award for Social Entrepreneurship, the Henry R Kravis Prize in Leadership and the CNN-IBN Indian of the Year for Public Service. Pratham also received the 2021 Yidan Prize for Education Development and the Yashraj Bharati Samman in 2025.
Right from inception, Pratham has been very proactive in using data to make decisions. Our own ability to measure, assess and evaluate has grown over time. At the same time, we have invited collaborations with researchers so that rigorous methods can be used to understand the effectiveness of our programs. Our two-decade long relationship with MIT’s Abdul Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) is testament to this commitment. Most of Pratham programs are large-scale programs. To effectively use data to guide programs we need to make sure that data collection is “do-able” and that data can be understood by all.
Hence, the M easurement, M onitoring, and E valuation (MME) team at Pratham was established in 2013 to coordinate, standardise and streamline data collection, analyse data and establish reporting structures for Pratham’s flagship “Read India” program. A major objective of the team was to support data and evidence-based decision making at all levels of the organisation – from the instructor in the field to the leadership at state or national level. Since then, the team has grown substantially in size but moreover in scope and now are integrally involved in most programs in 22 states which fall within Pratham’s education portfolio.
We are looking for a self-driven State MME Associate to strengthen and manage the measurement, monitoring, and evaluation (MME) processes for our programs in Assam. The selected candidate will be based in Guwahati, Assam . However, the base location may be changed based on organisational and programmatic requirements.
