Job summary

Varaha seeks a State Head - Punjab to own end-to-end execution, expansion, and operational integrity of a regenerative agriculture project across Punjab. You will lead field deployment teams, build partnerships with state departments, and ensure verifiable data for carbon credit registration.

You will manage district teams, drive district KPIs, and promote sustainable practices through field campaigns, while ensuring data quality and compliance across all activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Agriculture or related field.
• 10–15 years of field operational experience in agribusiness or related sectors.
• Fluent in English and Hindi; Punjabi language fluency is required.
• Willingness to travel extensively across Punjab (80%+ field time).

Responsibilities

• Define state-level strategy to onboard farmers into the regenerative programme.
• Build, train, and manage territory managers, district-level team leads, and field agents.
• Set district KPIs for farmer onboarding, practice adoption, and data collection.
• Oversee campaigns, field days, and demonstrations for sustainable practices.
• Maintain relationships with Punjab State Agricultural Department, KVKs, PAU, and FPOs.
• Enforce data integrity and zero-tolerance policy on fraud or double-counting.

Role Overview

As the State Head - Punjab, you will own the end-to-end execution, expansion, and operational integrity of the Regenerative Agriculture Project in Punjab. You will lead field deployment teams, build strategic relationships with state agricultural departments, local FPOs, and farmer cooperatives, and ensure accurate, verifiable data collection for carbon credit registration.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership & Operational Planning: Drive state-level strategy to onboard farmers into the regenerative agriculture program.
• Build, train, and manage territory managers, district-level team leads, and ground field agents across high-priority districts in Punjab.
• Define district-wise KPIs for farmer onboarding, practice adoption (DSR, residue management), and field data collection.
• Field Execution & Regenerative Practice Adoption: Oversee farmer mobilization campaigns, ground outreach programs, and field-day demonstrations to promote sustainable practices like DSR and straw management to tackle stubble burning.
• Stakeholder Management & Partnerships: Establish and maintain relationships with Punjab State Agricultural Department, Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), local Panchayats, and Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs).
• Quality Control & Compliance: Enforce zero-tolerance policies on fraud or double-counting in farmer onboarding data.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Agricultural Engineering, or related fields.
• Experience: 10-15 years of field operational experience in agribusiness, agtech, seed/fertilizer distribution, or largescale agricultural sustainability programs.
• Language Proficiency: Strong command of English and Hindi; native fluency in Punjabi is required.
• Key Skills: Team management, farmer communication, field data collection apps, and strong on-the-ground problem-solving skills.
• Travel: Willingness to travel extensively across assigned districts in Punjab (80%+ field time).
