Job summary

Varaha is seeking a dynamic State Head to lead Biochar Operations in Gujarat, responsible for building partnerships, overseeing site operations, and driving state-level business objectives. The role is field-oriented and requires travel across Gujarat to manage sites and stakeholders.

You will coordinate with internal teams and partners to ensure timely execution of biochar initiatives while focusing on operational excellence in agri-inputs, agri-outputs, or energy sectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Management, Energy, or related field.
• 2–3 years of relevant experience in agri-inputs, agri-outputs, or energy sector.
• Willingness to travel across Gujarat and manage field operations.
• Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and execution abilities.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Partnerships: Identify, onboard, and develop new strategic partners for Varaha’s Biochar initiatives across Gujarat.
• Partner Management: Manage existing partners, strengthen relationships, and ensure ongoing engagement and collaboration.
• State Operations: Oversee Biochar site operations across Gujarat, ensuring smooth and timely execution of activities.
• Business & Operational Ownership: Drive operational and business activities related to Biochar across the state.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate with internal teams, partners, and other stakeholders to ensure effective execution of state-level initiatives.
• Field Execution: Travel across Gujarat to visit sites, meet partners, monitor operations, and address execution-related challenges.
• Operational Excellence: Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and execution across Biochar activities.

About the Role:

We are looking for a dynamic and execution-oriented professional to lead Biochar operations and business activities across Gujarat. The State Head will be responsible for building and managing strategic partnerships, overseeing site operations, and driving the overall operational and business objectives for the state.

The role is suited for candidates with experience in the agri-inputs, agri-outputs, or energy sector who are comfortable working in a field-oriented, fast-paced environment and managing stakeholders across multiple locations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Partnerships: Identify, onboard, and develop new strategic partners for Varaha’s Biochar initiatives across Gujarat.
• Partner Management: Manage existing partners, strengthen relationships, and ensure effective ongoing engagement and collaboration.
• State Operations: Oversee Biochar site operations across Gujarat, ensuring smooth and timely execution of activities.
• Business & Operational Ownership: Drive operational and business activities related to Biochar across the state.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate with internal teams, partners, and other stakeholders to ensure effective execution of state-level initiatives.
• Field Execution: Regularly travel across Gujarat to visit sites, meet partners, monitor operations, and address execution-related challenges.
• Operational Excellence: Identify opportunities to improve processes, operational efficiency, and execution across Biochar activities.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Management, Energy, or a related field.
• 2–3 years of relevant experience in the agri-inputs, agri-outputs, or energy sector.
• Graduates from leading agricultural and management institutions such as IRMA, Anand Agricultural University, Navsari Agricultural University, or Parul University will be preferred.
• Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to manage field operations and work across multiple locations.
• Strong communication, coordination, and execution skills.
• Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership of state-level responsibilities.
• Willingness to travel extensively across Gujarat.
• Interest in climate action, sustainability, agriculture, or carbon removal is a plus.
