  • Deliver onsite IT support services across laptops, desktops, OS, and enterprise apps.

  • Install, configure, and maintain IT systems and devices.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and system-related issues.
  • Lead and manage the onsite operations team, ensuring SLA adherence.
  • Drive and support IT projects and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Network, Infrastructure, and Security teams.
  • Maintain documentation and knowledge base articles.
  • Provide conference room and AV support for meetings.
  • Manage Geek Street walk-in IT support for end users.
  • Prepare operational reports, dashboards, and executive presentations.

THE ROLE

AMD is seeking a highly capable Staff System Administrator to join the IT Onsite Services Support (OSS) team. This role is responsible for leading onsite IT operations while delivering high-quality end-user support across laptops, desktops, operating systems, business applications, collaboration tools and AI adoption.

The position requires a strong blend of people leadership, hands-on technical expertise, AI and operational ownership, including conference room/AV support and extended coordination with network and infrastructure teams. The individual will also drive key IT initiatives and projects aligned with organizational goals.

THE PERSON

The ideal candidate is a proactive and results-driven professional with strong troubleshooting capabilities and multi-platform expertise including AI. They should demonstrate the ability to balance team leadership with hands-on support, while maintaining a strong customer focus and driving continuous service improvement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Deliver onsite IT support services, ensuring seamless day-to-day end-user operations
  • Provide technical support for laptops, desktops, OS, and enterprise applications
  • Perform installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT systems and devices
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and system-related issues efficiently
  • Lead and manage the onsite operations team, ensuring service quality and SLA adherence
  • Drive and support IT projects and initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and execution
  • Collaborate with peer IT teams (Network, Infrastructure, Security, etc.) to resolve cross-functional issues
  • Maintain and enhance technical documentation, knowledge base articles, and FAQs
  • Provide conference room and AV support, ensuring smooth meeting experiences
  • Manage and deliver Geek Street (walk-in IT support) services for end users
  • Prepare operational reports, dashboards, and executive presentations as required
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • 12+ years of experience in IT operations and end-user support, with a strong leadership background
  • Proven experience as a Senior System Administrator or End User Support Lead
  • Strong hands-on expertise in desktop/laptop hardware and software support
  • In-depth knowledge of Windows, Linux, and macOS environments
  • Experience with Active Directory (AD), O365, user lifecycle management (onboarding/offboarding), AI Tools and asset management
  • Working knowledge of networking concepts (LAN, WAN, Wi‑Fi)
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to lead teams, manage priorities, and drive operational excellence
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, ECE, or a related field
