Job summary

Google Hyderabad Bengaluru is seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Cloud AI to lead the design and implementation of scalable APIs and AI-powered infrastructure across Google Cloud. You will own outcomes, mentor engineers, and collaborate with AI research teams to drive real-world impact.

You will work on building the Hub for APIs, MCP Servers, and Agents, with deep integrations to API gateways and GCP. Strong distributed systems and cloud-native development experience required; knowledge of LLMs

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience with one or more general purpose programming languages including but not limited to: Java, C/C++ or Python.
• Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI, Agentic AI frameworks and RAG systems.
• Experience in software development, and designing, implementing distributed systems or cloud-native infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and coding of core features that transform the Hub into a definitive repository for APIs, Model Context Protocol (MCP) Servers, and Agents.
• Build highly scalable, distributed systems that automate asset discovery through deep integrations with various API Gateways and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Agent Cloud.
• Develop the interfaces and schemas required to make organizational assets available and "understandable" for consumption by AI Agents.
• Drive high engineering standards across the team through rigorous design reviews, code reviews, and the implementation of best practices in cloud-native development.
• Act as a technical lead and mentor for junior and mid-level engineers, helping to solve complex technical bottlenecks and improve system reliability.
