Job summary

Visa’s Technology Organization in Bengaluru seeks a seasoned software engineering leader to drive game-changing innovation, mentoring multi-skilled teams, and prototyping ideas into commercial solutions.

You will work with product, UX, and engineering, scale pilots to production, leverage AI tools, and contribute to technical documentation. This is a hybrid role with in‑office days in Bengaluru.

Candidates with 10+ years in software, and 2+ in technical leadership, MS/BS in CS, are preferred.

Job Summary : Visa’s Technology Organization is a community of problem solvers and innovators reshaping the future of commerce. The Role

Are you passionate about conceptualizing, nurturing, developing, and proving new ideas and developing them into new solutions? Would you like to help re-invent the internal business processes with the latest technologies and re-imagine the way things operate?

We’re looking for a seasoned individual to drive game-changing innovation within Visa’s internal processes and ecosystem. You should have experience technically leading and mentoring multi-skilled teams capable of rapid prototyping of new ideas as well as scale these to commercial solutions. You and your team will be at the forefront of strategic partnerships, breakthrough technologies, new ideas, hackathons, demos, and rapid prototyping. You will work closely with business development teams, partners, and internal product teams and cross- leverage engineering talent internally and externally.

Responsibilities

• Be at the heart of developing new ideas into demo-able products, and ultimately to commercial product
• Work directly with product owners, UX, engineering and other partner teams to gather and refine requirements across products, adding and taking into account existing tools and solutions across the organization
• Drive rapid prototyping cycles from technical requirements, software designs, programming, debugging, and optimization
• Explore and innovate new technologies, features, and tools
• Consult on a regular basis with leadership to align expectations and deliverables
• Be scrappy and work with the small team to the fullest to work on multiple parallel POCs and incubation efforts
• Able to scale the successful pilots to full commercial solutions
• Develop and design advanced architect solutions that are robust and scalable, considering integrations with other solutions across the internal technical ecosystem.
• Use stubs as needed to simulate capabilities lighting up soon
• Work collaboratively across team boundaries to share common infrastructure and functional capabilities. Provide feedback into core product teams to influence their roadmap and strategy
• Leverage AI technologies as-appropriate in day-2-day development and in production systems
• Provide domain expertise on the development of technical documentation of solutions and contributes to standard processes in technical documentation as needed
• Play a key role in the development and delivery of new features across products from end-to-end

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience.
• Passion for innovation, new ideas, quick prototyping, hackathons etc.
• Prior work exploring and innovating new IP, genres, and product experiences
• Professional experience in ideation and incubation which has led to shipping products
• Multi-disciplinary skills and experience in ideation, software design, programming, debugging, and optimization
• Proven skill set and track record in developing one-line ideas into products
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated and drive for excellence
• Have an open-minded approach to development strategy and approaches
• Capable of building culture for innovation
• Technical hands-on skills, ideally in multiple technology stacks for web development, APIs and Mobile application development on diverse platforms
• Hands-on and up to date with Gen AI and Agentic AI technologies and space
• 10+ years of software engineering experience
• 2+ years of experience in technical leadership roles with increasing responsibility
• MS or BS in Computer Science or equivalent Bonus Qualifications:
• Prior experience working with Agentic AI systems.
• Prior experience working in a start-up or at VC firms in a “Resident Entrepreneur” capacity
• Financial services and/or payments processing industry experience is a plus
• Patents and other proofs of past success in creating IP
• Prior experience working with Agentic AI systems.
