Job summary

JioStar in Bengaluru seeks a Senior Software Architect to lead the design of scalable, secure distributed systems and drive end-to-end development across the stack.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with product and design teams, and ensure best practices in CI/CD, code quality, and performance while delivering high-impact features for entertainment platforms.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on software development experience.
• 4+ years in full-stack development or relevant leadership roles.
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

Responsibilities

• System Architecture & Design: architect, design and implement scalable, secure end-to-end systems.
• Hands-on Development: write and review complex code across the stack to drive initiatives.
• Technical Leadership: guide product development with architectural blueprints and estimates.
• Mentorship & Culture: mentor juniors, conduct code reviews, promote secure coding and DevOps practices.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: partner with Product Owners, UX/UI designers, and architects to translate business needs into high-quality software.

Key responsibilities:

• System Architecture & Design: Architect, design, and implement highly scalable, reliable, and secure end-to-end distributed systems.
• Hands-on Development: Write and review complex, reusable code across the entire technology stack to drive strategic business initiatives.
• Technical Leadership: Guide product development from conceptualization to deployment, providing high-level estimates, architectural blueprints, and technical oversight.
• Mentorship & Culture: Actively mentor junior and mid-level developers, conduct thorough code reviews, and drive engineering best practices (e.g., secure coding, CI/CD).
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Product Owners, UX/UI Designers, and enterprise architects to translate business needs into functional, high-quality software.

Skills and attributes for success:

• 8+ years of hands-on software development experience.
• Back-End Technologies: Strong proficiency in server-side technology - Python, experience with Golang is an added advantage.
• Hands-on experience with relational/non-relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and cloud platforms (AWS or GCP).
• Tools & Practices: Deep understanding of Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, AI-assisted coding tools, and API design (REST)
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
• Strong capability in prioritizing tasks and navigating ambiguous, fast-paced environments.

Preferred education and experience:

• Bachelors/Masters in Computer Science or a related field with 8+ years of experience in software development including 4+ years in fullstack
