Job description

Harness is the AI Software Delivery Platform company, led by technologist and entrepreneur Jyoti Bansal (founder of AppDynamics, acquired by Cisco for $3.7B). Harness has raised approximately $570M in funding and is valued at $5.5B, backed by leading investors including Goldman Sachs, Menlo Ventures, IVP, Unusual Ventures, Citi Ventures, and more. As AI accelerates code creation, the real bottleneck has shifted to everything after the code – testing, deployments, application security, reliability, compliance, and cost optimization. Harness brings AI and automation to this “outer loop,” helping teams ship software faster while maintaining security and governance throughout the entire software delivery lifecycle.

Powered by Harness AI and the Software Delivery Knowledge Graph, the Harness Platform applies deep context and intelligent automation across the software delivery lifecycle with governance and policy‑driven controls embedded throughout the platform.

Over the past year, Harness powered over 185M deployments, 82M builds, 18T flag evaluations, 8M security scans, 9.1B optimized tests, 3T protected API calls, and helped manage $2.8B in cloud spend — enabling customers like United Airlines, Morningstar, and Choice Hotels to accelerate releases by up to 75%, reduce cloud costs by up to 60%, and achieve 10x DevOps efficiency.

With a global team across 26 offices and 27 countries, Harness is shaping the future of AI software delivery — and we’re looking for exceptional talent to help us move even faster.

Harness is seeking a Staff product manager to drive the definition, development, and adoption of our packaged and shipped product — Harness Continous Deployment.

In this role, you will own technical, end‑to‑end product initiatives—from identifying user needs and defining requirements to working across several teams to ensure successful delivery. You’ll work closely with customers and engineering teams to guide product development, ensure technical feasibility and high‑quality execution, and find innovative ways to efficiently solve complex developer experience challenges.

This is a high‑impact, high‑visibility role that requires technical depth and effective cross‑functional execution spanning Engineering, Sales, Marketing, UX, Research, Customer Success and Support.

About the role
  • Own a product area of Continuous Deployment roadmap end‑to‑end — from progressive delivery (canary, blue‑green, rolling), automated rollback, and GitOps workflows to deployment verification
  • Translate customer deployment pain — risky releases, slow rollbacks, fragmented pipeline visibility — into detailed product requirements
  • Partner daily with engineering and design to validate technical feasibility and ship high‑quality features on predictable timelines.
  • Work directly with platform and DevOps engineers at customers like United Airlines, Morningstar, and Choice Hotels to gather requirements and pressure‑test the roadmap.
  • Write and manage detailed technical product requirements and specifications
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, design team to ensure technical feasibility and the timely delivery of high‑quality features
  • Engage with customers, developers, and internal stakeholders to gather requirements, address pain points, and drive continuous product improvement
  • Define product roadmap for the area owned by identifying and prioritizing new features and improvements based on customer feedback, technical considerations, market trends, and business goals
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with Developer Relations, Marketing, and other teams to create both internal enablement resources and external content that drive adoption and educate users on new features and capabilities
About you
  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience is required
  • 7+ years of experience in product management with enterprise SaaS / Cloud companies
  • 5+ years of experience managing technical products and delivering solutions that enhance developer experience and productivity.
  • You can operate in a dynamic environment, and are able to adapt quickly
  • You are technically strong and are able to understand architecture, engineering decisions, and can work closely with developers to ensure high‑quality implementation.
  • You are customer focused and passionate about solving real‑world developer challenges
  • Strong analytical skills and data‑driven product decision‑making mindset
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written
  • A strong background in cloud‑native infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure), containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible. A computer science degree or past software engineering experience is highly valued here.
  • Prior experience as a software developer and/or Startup experience is a big plus
  • Experience leading cross‑functional teams
