Job summary

Birla Carbon in Tamil Nadu is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to keep plant equipment running safely and efficiently. You will perform routine and preventive maintenance, inspect machinery, diagnose faults, and implement timely repairs to minimize downtime.

We require a high school diploma with technical certification or associate degree in mechanical engineering technology, plus at least three years of hands-on manufacturing experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma plus a technical certification, apprenticeship, or associate degree in mechanical engineering technology.
• Three or more years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing, plant, or industrial setting.
• Safety rules adherence, including lockout/tagout procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on equipment to prevent sudden breakdowns.
• Perform scheduled checks, lubricate moving parts, change filters, and clean equipment to prevent sudden breakdowns.
• Inspect equipment to locate the root cause of malfunctions or performance errors.
• Inspect operating machinery and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic faults.
• Disassemble, repair, or replace broken or worn-out parts like bearings, seals, and gears.
• Test fixed equipment and run diagnostic software to verify proper performance.
