Job summary

GlobalFoundries is seeking a Staff Fixed Assets Accountant to oversee fixed asset transactions and related internal controls. You will coordinate with the BPO team, SOX, and external auditors.

You will prepare documentation supporting accounting positions, assist in financial reporting for fixed assets, and contribute to projects such as integration of newly acquired entities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
• CPA/CA preferred.
• At least 8 years of public accounting or corporate experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Good problem solving and accounting investigative skills.
• Familiar with ERP systems such as Oracle and SAP S4 Hana.

Responsibilities

• Review and provide guidance on fixed asset transactions, including lease transactions and long-term licensing.
• Assist in preparation of documentation and memos supporting accounting positions for fixed assets.
• Execute and document processes and internal controls around fixed asset accounting; coordinate with SOX and external auditor.
• Provide necessary documentation required for financial audit.
• Support and review financial reporting related to fixed assets.
• Assist with other accounting projects, e.g., integration of newly acquired entities and process improvements.

Introduction

Provide Oversight for fixed asset transactions to the Fixed asset team in the BPO (TCS in India), Audit Coordination and assist in ongoing fixed asset projects

Your Job

• Review and provide guidance on fixed asset transactions to the Fixed asset team in the BPO (TCS in India), including lease transactions and long-term licensing transactions.
• Assist in preparation of documentation and memos supporting the Company’s accounting positions related to fixed assets (as required).
• Execute and document processes and internal controls around applicable fixed asset accounting processes. Ensure internal controls compliance is prepared and retained. Coordinate with the SOX team and external auditor,
• Provide necessary documentation required for financial audit.
• Support and review financial reporting related to fixed assets.
• Assisting with other accounting projects as required. Examples include Integration of newly acquired entities, process and reporting enhancements for Fixed Assets.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• CPA/CA preferred
• At least 8 years of public accounting or corporate experience
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Good problem solving and (accounting) investigative skills
• Ability to apply technical accounting guidance to transaction fact pattern to arrive at recommended accounting position
• Familiar with ERP systems such as Oracle and SAP S4 Hana
