Staff Engineer / Sr Engineer / Engineer, Validation
Seeking a technically strong and proactive Post‑Silicon System Validation / Functional Validation Engineer to drive the planning, execution, and debug of system‑level validation of IP and SoC/MCU designs. This role is critical in verifying functional correctness, feature compliance, performance, and robustness of silicon devices across use cases, voltage/temperature corners, and real application conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute post‑silicon system and functional validation of automotive SoCs/MCUs to ensure functional correctness, robustness, and performance.
- Own feature‑level validation plans, test strategies, and coverage matrices aligned with architecture and design specifications.
- Execute validation of boot flows, power/clock/reset, memory subsystems, interconnects, and interfaces across stress, corner, and fault scenarios.
- Drive system bring‑up on evaluation boards, emulation/FPGA platforms, and silicon validation setups.
- Develop and maintain test firmware, diagnostics, automation scripts, and stress tools to exercise system features.
- Perform hands‑on silicon debug and root‑cause analysis, working closely with design, DV, firmware, and software teams to drive closure.
- Analyse validation data and logs, track issues through structured closure, and contribute to quality metrics.
- Support escape‑prevention efforts by identifying coverage gaps, corner cases, and robustness risks.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance within the validation team.
- Contribute to validation readiness reports, risk assessments, and release signoff inputs.
Qualifications
- B.E./B. Tech or M.E./M. Tech in Electronics, Electrical, or Computer Engineering.
- 3 to 12 years of experience in post‑silicon validation, system validation, or embedded SoC bring‑up.
- Strong understanding of SoC architecture, ARM cores (A/M series), peripherals, power/clock/reset, and low‑power design techniques.
- Experience validating high‑speed interfaces (e.g., DDR, USB, PCIe, MIPI, Ethernet) and standard protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, LIN, FlexRay, etc.).
- Proficiency in C/C++ or embedded programming for firmware development and test automation.
- Hands‑on experience with lab tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power analyzers, thermal sensors).
- Familiarity with validation frameworks, debug utilities (JTAG, Lauterbach, OpenOCD), and issue tracking systems (JIRA, Bugzilla).
- Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Experience with AI frameworks for SoC Validation efficiency and quality gain— eg validation specific AI agents, Cody AI for content development etc.
Preferred
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural, cross‑functional environment.
- Familiarity with automotive technical trends.
- Self‑starter with a proactive mindset and strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.
- Experience in validation of (Neural Processing Unit) or AI accelerator HW functionality on SoC.
