Responsibilities and Duties
- Independently set day-to-day work priorities while working to achieve the goals of the team/organization.
- Develop test strategies for end-to-end customer deployment scenario testing.
- Understanding test automation principles, common automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright), and how automation fits into a CI/CD pipeline.
- Ability to read and understand automation reports.
- Automate NMS/EMS API and GUI Test cases.
- Good working knowledge of Apache Kafka, MongoDB, React, Meteor.
- Working knowledge of network emulators.
- Interface with other automation teams to formulate automation test strategies.
- Create test cases to validate customer deployment scenarios and overall solution.
- Execute and monitor tests to report system issues and test results.
- Perform regression testing on new software and hardware, scalability tests and evaluate compliance to specifications.
- Reproduce field issues and validate their resolution.
- Familiarity with traffic generators to create real-world traffic streams for video, data, and voice related testing.
- Analyze log files to capture error conditions.
- Troubleshoot and debug issues.
- Clearly describe system-faults in issue tracking products.
- Lead/mentor a small team of junior and senior level test engineers.
- Work with multiple internal cross-functional teams, as well as 3rd parties, to analyze test results and field scenarios.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of technical knowledge/experience working with NMS/EMS systems is required.
- Excels at learning quickly and adapting to change.
- Must be detail-oriented, be able to work independently and sometimes with limited information.
- Proactively communicate status, issues, and support needs to appropriate manager(s).
- Organized and goal-focused, ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment.
- Minimum of 5 years of knowledge and experience with Telecom Access Products specifically GPON/NGPON/XGS-PON technologies as they apply to Fiber-to-the Home, Fiber-to-the-Business, Fiber-to-the-Curb, Fiber-to-the-Desk, etc.
- Networking protocols and technology experience is required related to Layer2/3 Ethernet networks.
- Experience testing user interfaces including, but not limited to, SNMP, Netconf.
- Experience with data communications or telecommunications product testing in one or more of the following areas: Experience with packet capture tools like Wireshark, tcpdump, iperf, wireline simulators, traffic generators and other networking test and evaluation tools.
- Experience with end-to-end testing of OLT-ONU(OMCI) interaction and troubleshooting.
- Excellent general troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to articulate problems in detail.
- Excellent verbal/written English communication skills while working with local/remote teams.
- Hands-on experience with performance test methods and tools, e.g., Spirent, IXIA, Abacus/Ameritec Bulk Call Generators, Ookla Speed Test, Iperf, is a good to have.
Location: India - (Flexible hybrid work model - work from Bangalore office for 20 days in a quarter)
