Job summary

Albertsons Companies India seeks a Staff Software Engineer to drive advanced Java-based web and mobile solutions. You will design, develop and mentor across microservices, REST APIs and cloud deployments, collaborating with global teams.

You will lead large programs, review architectures, and champion quality in a fast-paced retail tech environment. Strong SDLC, Agile practices, and hands-on coding are essential.

Qualifications

• 9–12 years of experience as a Full Stack Developer in Java, Web, and Mobile development.
• 7+ years of programming in Java with a focus on Microservices and REST APIs.
• 5+ years developing web applications using ReactJS and/or AngularJS.
• Advanced knowledge of app servers such as Tomcat, Apache Jetty, Reactor Netty.
• Strong DB skills: Oracle, Azure SQL Server, PostgreSQL; NoSQL: MongoDB, Cassandra.
• 3+ years cloud experience with Azure, GCP, or AWS.
• Experience with JUnit/TestNG and test automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cucumber, Rest-Assured, Karate; plus Appium/Espresso.
• SDLC and Agile methodologies understanding; performance optimization in distributed environments.
• CI/CD with Jenkins or GitHub Actions; Docker/Kubernetes experience is a plus.
• Retail domain experience; mentoring teams; SRE mindset.

• Hands on code writing skills, conducts code reviews and works continuously on code quality improvements
• Performs advanced development, support and implementation of complex systems using specialized domain knowledge and highly developed business expertise

Experience Required:

• 9–12 years of experience as a Full Stack Developer in Java, Web, and Mobile development technologies
• 7+ years of programming experience in Java, with a strong focus on building Microservices and REST APIs
• 5+ years of experience developing web applications using ReactJS and/or AngularJS
• Advanced knowledge of application servers such as Tomcat, Apache Jetty, Reactor Netty
• Strong expertise in database technologies including relational databases (Oracle, Azure SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra), with experience in mobile data handling and synchronization
• Minimum 3+ years of experience with cloud platform services and application development using Microsoft Azure, GCP, or AWS
• Advanced knowledge of automated unit testing with tools like JUnit/TestNG and test automation frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, Cucumber, Rest-Assured, Karate; plus mobile testing tools like Appium or Espresso
• Deep understanding of the full software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies
• Advanced expertise in capacity planning, systems performance analysis, and optimization in distributed client/server and mobile environments
• Familiarity with GitHub Copilot or similar AI-assisted development tools
• Strong expertise in design patterns and architectural principles for building scalable, maintainable applications across web and mobile platforms
• Specialized knowledge in CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or GitHub Actions
• DevOps experience including setup and management of Docker and/or Kubernetes clusters is a strong plus
