Job summary

SiMa.ai, Inc. in Bangalore, India seeks a Staff Engineer, Software to join our on-site SoC software team.

You will develop/port OS, boot SW and device drivers for the MLSoC, enabling end-to-end customer AI workloads with Linux based applications and APIs across multiple CPU subsystems. The ideal candidate has 8+ years of embedded software experience, hands-on driver development for high-speed interfaces, and strong C/C++ skills.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science or related field.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ and embedded software.
• Experience with ARM 64-bit processors and firmware development.
• Experience with embedded Linux (Yocto) or RTOS (Zephyr).
• Experience developing drivers for PCIe/UCIe, USB, MIPI, Ethernet, eMMC, UFS.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain drivers for high-speed interfaces (UCIe, PCIe, Ethernet, MIPI, DDR).
• Build system libraries for buffers, logging and synchronization.
• Optimize power and performance of the MLSoC system.
• Extend/build OS and boot software (Yocto/eLxr).
• Test Linux drivers and environment with emulators for pre-silicon validation.
• Support post-silicon bring-up and validation for HW MLSoC tests.

Description:

The SoC software team is responsible for creating the SDK for SiMa.ai’s MLSoC product line. This includes developing/porting OS, boot SW, device drivers, run time environment for multiple CPU subsystems that are part of SiMa.ai’s MLSoC, developing embedded Linux based applications and APIs for enabling end2end customer application flow utilizing different IO subsystems that are part of MLSoC.

Responsibilities:

We are looking for a software engineer who has experience developing OS device drivers, boot SW and key test applications in a Linux embedded environment. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working in a high-performance team and have partnered with cross functional teams across multiple geographies. Key responsibilities include (but not limited to):

• Develop and maintain drivers for high speed interfaces like UCIe, PCIe, Ethernet, MIPI, DDR.
• Build and maintain system level libraries for buffer management, synchronization, logging, etc.
• Optimize the power and performance of the system.
• Modify and maintain build systems like Yocto and eLxr (Debian).
• Test and verify Linux drivers and environment with Virtualizers and Zebu emulators for pre-silicon validation..
• Provide SW to support HW MLSoC test validation team for post-silicon validation and bring up.

Key Requirements:

• BS/MS in computer science with minimum 8 years of experience.
• Hands-on experience developing firmware, boot code and SW using high performance 64 bit Arm processors.
• Experience of working with UCIe, PCIe EP/RC, SIG Certification, Drivers Linux/Windows Hosts is highly desirable.
• Hands-on experience developing drivers for USB, MIPI, Ethernet, eMMC, UFS.
• Development experience with Embedded Linux (e.g. Yocto) orembedded RTOS (e.g. Zephyr) experience is highly desirable.
• Good proficiency with C/C++.
• Proven track record and experience building and delivering complex embedded SW products.
