Position Summary

We are looking for a Staff Engineer – Java with strong expertise in architecting and developing high-scale, distributed backend systems. The role requires a blend of technical leadership and hands‑on engineering. You will lead architecture decisions, drive engineering best practices, and build secure, scalable, and high-performance platforms.

This role demands strong problem-solving skills, the ability to mentor teams, evaluate new technologies, and contribute to building reliable and future-ready systems.

Your Role Responsibilities and Duties

• Own end-to-end architecture and technical design for distributed and high-scale backend services.
• Define technical vision, engineering best practices, and coding standards.
• Remain hands‑on with prototyping, debugging, analysis, and complex problem resolution.
• Collaborate closely with Product, QA, Engineering Managers, and cross-functional teams to align engineering goals with business needs.
• Conduct architecture reviews, code reviews, and ensure system quality, performance, and maintainability.
• Mentor engineers across levels, fostering innovation and continuous improvement.
• Evaluate emerging tools, frameworks, and technologies to enhance system performance and developer productivity.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in backend engineering.
• Strong expertise in Java (11+), Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Microservices Architecture.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS Cloud, NoSQL databases, RDBMS, and caching techniques.
• Proven experience designing and scaling high-volume, distributed systems.
• Strong skills in system design, performance optimization, and security best practices.
• Experience with Docker/Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Jenkins.
• Good knowledge of additional programming languages like Go or Python is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities, debugging skills, and communication skills.
• Prior experience in payments domain is preferred.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies such as Scrum or SAFe.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent technical discipline.
