Job summary

Rakuten Symphony in Bangalore (Hybrid) seeks a Staff Engineer, Intelligent Automation & Process Excellence with 6–8 years in BPM, process mining, and AI/Automation development to bridge strategy and hands-on implementation.

You will lead transformation initiatives, architect end-to-end processes, and drive AI agentic automation across telecom domains, collaborating with cross-functional teams and DevOps. Strong data skills (SQL, Python) and OSS/BSS knowledge are required.

What Do We Expect From You

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Engineer, Intelligent Automation & Process Excellence (<6 to 8 years of experience>) to serve as a bridge between strategic process architecture and next-generation AI implementation. You will lead our transformation initiatives by combining advanced BPM methodologies and process mining with cutting-edge Agentic-AI. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on practitioner who can translate complex, fragmented legacy workflows into highly optimized, automated, and AI-driven ecosystems that deliver measurable business value.

Process Strategy & Architecture

• Design and architect enterprise‑grade, end‑to‑end business processes
• Act as a strategic advisor to cross‑functional units, translating operational challenges into scalable process frameworks.
• Conduct rigorous process audits and benchmark internal KPIs against global industry standards (e.g., APQC frameworks) to establish performance baselines

Process Mining & Data-Driven Insights

• Lead process mining initiatives to ingest event log data, discover "as‑is" operational realities, and pinpoint bottlenecks/compliance deviations.
• Utilize advanced data skills (SQL, Python, or R) to transform data for process discovery and performance analysis

AI & Agentic Automation Portfolio of Implementation

• Must demonstrate a proven, hands‑on track record of deploying Agentic‑AI solutions in production environments.
• Candidates should be prepared to discuss the specific architecture of their agents, the reasoning models used, and how they handled tool‑use and error correction.
• Architect and deploy Agentic‑AI solutions to solve specific problems across telecom domains and verticals.
• Create AI agents to automate complex tasks: log analysis, code debugging, telecom protocol troubleshooting, and proactive performance monitoring.
• Evaluate workflows for automation readiness, calculating ROI and feasibility before orchestrating pipelines using RPA and Workflow Engines

Operational Support & DevOps

• Provide technical support for DevOps infrastructure (e.g., Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Contribute to the development of automated tools/scripts to improve support efficiency and maintain optimal Customer Experience (CX).

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics/Comm, IT, or related field.

Experience

• Overall 6 to 8 years of core experience in BPM, process mining, and AI/Automation development.

Process Mining/BPM

• Technical expertise in Process mining and workflow platform tools

Agentic-AI

• Proven, hands‑on experience in the design, implementation, and orchestration of advanced AI agents and workflows.

Technical Stack

• Automation: RPA tools and Low‑Code/No‑Code engines.
• DevOps/Infrastructure: Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins.
• Data: SQL, Python/R, and BI tools

Domain Knowledge

• Solid understanding of Telecom Network architectures (OSS/BSS).

Core Competencies

• Hands‑on experience with Agentic frameworks such as LangChain, AutoGen, CrewAI, or Haystack.
• Proficiency in implementing RAG (Retrieval‑Augmented Generation), ReAct (Reasoning and Acting) patterns, function calling, and long‑term memory management for AI agents.

Analytical Rigor

• Ability to identify root causes in complex telecom architectures and translate them into automated solutions.

Hands‑on Leadership

• A track record of "doing the work" - developing models, pipelines, and agents - rather than just providing oversight.
