Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. is seeking a Firmware Engineer in India to build high‑performance memory controller firmware for SSDs.

You will evaluate, build, bench test, and debug firmware, improving speed, power efficiency, and SoC complexity while working with a multi-disciplinary team in a dynamic environment. The role requires 6–12 years of embedded firmware experience, proficiency in C and assembly, familiarity with PCIe/NVMe, and hands-on usage of ARM tools and scripting.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• 6–12 years of embedded firmware/storage experience is preferred.
• Strong firmware design and debugging with assembly and C.

Responsibilities

• Develop and debug firmware for high-performance memory controllers and SSDs.
• Evaluate, build, bench test, and analyze firmware for reliability and performance.
• Triage failures, file bug reports, and assist teams in issue isolation.

As a Firmware Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will build groundbreaking high-performance controller firmware for volatile and non-volatile memory systems. You will assist in the evaluation, creation, build, bench testing, debugging, and failure analyzes of firmware for new high-performance memory controllers and Solid State Drives (SSD) that will improve performance, while reducing power, latency and SoC (System on Chip) complexity for the target sectors. You can expect to partner multi-disciplinary Engineers seek multi-functional product development issues. You will triage failures, file bug reports, AI Supported and help the development teams with isolating issues.

Job Responsibilities

• 6-12 Years in Embedded Firmware Storage/SSD would be a strong plus.
• Strong firmware design and debug experience using assembly and C programming.
• Knowledge of mass storage interface protocol PCIe/NVMe, Understanding of storage interfaces including SATA, or SAS (optional).
• Strong skill in ARM development tools and IDE such as Eclipse.
• Knowledge in the use of scripting languages, programming tools and environments.
• Experience in the storage industry in SSD, HDD, storage systems, or a related technology.
• Working knowledge of NAND flash and other non-volatile storage is optional but plus.
• Experience in test equipment such as oscilloscopes and logic/bus analyzers (good to have).
• Ability to work independently with a minimum of day-to-day supervision.
• Experience with team leadership and/or supervising junior engineers and technicians.
• Ability to work in a multi-functional team and under the pressure of multiple priorities.
