Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Staff Engineer based in India to lead architectural design and implementation of cloud-based software for life sciences platforms, incorporating generative AI. You will guide frontend and backend development, APIs, and microservices, while ensuring secure, scalable, and compliant solutions.

You will work with international teams, drive technical direction, and contribute to product decisions that improve healthcare workflows and diagnostics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Over 15 years of professional software development experience in Java/J2EE, .NET or comparable enterprise technologies.
• At least 10 years of frontend development using AngularJS or React.
• Experience on Microsoft Azure and AI-enabled products.
• Strong JavaScript, REST APIs, microservices and modern engineering practices.
• DevOps with CI/CD and Git experience.
• System design and architecture expertise; capable of reviewing large-scale solutions.
• Ability to create architectural diagrams, flowcharts, UML models, and threat assessments.
• Strong debugging, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with cross-functional teams; excellent communication.

Responsibilities

• Analyze product and platform requirements; define functional scope and constraints.

As a Staff Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and developing advanced software solutions for cloud-based digital platforms in the life sciences and diagnostics sector. You will lead technical design initiatives, build scalable applications, and contribute to the development of innovative products incorporating generative AI technologies. Working with engineering specialists and cross-functional teams, you will help deliver reliable, secure, and high-performing software solutions. You will translate complex product requirements into robust architectures, prototypes, and production-ready features. Accountabilities

• Analyze product and platform requirements to understand functional needs, technical constraints, and the scope of assigned features or modules.

• Architect, design, develop, debug, and implement software features and enhancements using modern programming languages, frameworks, and cloud technologies.

• Build and maintain scalable web applications and cloud-based solutions, contributing to frontend development, backend services, APIs, and microservice architectures.

• Develop prototypes and proof-of-concept solutions to demonstrate technical approaches, validate design concepts, and support product decisions.

• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code in accordance with software requirements and established engineering standards.

• Develop and execute unit tests, investigate software and system issues, resolve defects, and track corrective actions through completion.

• Contribute to system architecture and large-scale design reviews, ensuring that solutions meet performance, scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability requirements.

• Create and maintain technical documentation, including architectural diagrams, flowcharts, UML models, and threat models.

• Apply DevOps practices and support continuous integration, continuous delivery, automated deployment, and version control workflows.

• Collaborate with local and international engineering teams, subject matter experts, product teams, and stakeholders to coordinate development activities and deliver releases on schedule.

• Support software quality and verification activities, particularly where products operate within regulated healthcare or medical device environments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

• More than 15 years of proven professional experience in software development using Java/J2EE, .NET, or comparable enterprise technologies.

• At least 10 years of experience in frontend web development using modern frameworks such as AngularJS or React.

• Experience developing applications on Microsoft Azure and contributing to products that incorporate generative AI technologies.

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, REST APIs, microservices architecture, and modern software engineering practices.

• Practical experience with DevOps methodologies, continuous integration, continuous delivery and deployment, and version control systems such as Git.

• Demonstrated expertise in system design, software architecture, and reviewing complex, large-scale technical solutions.

• Ability to create and interpret architectural diagrams, flowcharts, UML models, and threat assessments.

• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate complex system issues and deliver effective solutions.

• Experience working independently while collaborating effectively with subject matter experts, product teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts, present design proposals, and align engineering decisions with product objectives.

• Familiarity with Agile software development practices and a commitment to continuous improvement, quality, and reliable software delivery.
