Job summary

SCIEX, part of Danaher, seeks a Staff Engineer to lead a team delivering desktop and hybrid applications aligned to our strategic vision. You will mentor engineers, participate in deep design discussions, and ensure on‑time delivery with a globally distributed Agile team in Bangalore.

Strong C#.NET and backend architecture skills are essential. You will work with North America R&D and global partners to solve complex challenges, delivering reliable software used in life sciences and diagnostics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 14+ years of experience designing and developing enterprise-grade software.
• Proven backend & architecture expertise using C#.NET across desktop and web apps.
• Experience with .NET Framework, WPF, WCF, ASP.NET, MVC, Blazor, Razor components.
• Strong knowledge of MongoDB, PostgreSQL, performance tuning and debugging.

As a Staff Engineer, you will have the architectural, design & development responsibility of leading a team of engineers creating desktop and hybrid applications to translate Sciex’s strategic vision into technical reality.

You will be called upon to work collaboratively with our business partners, co Architects, Product Managers/Owners, to set goals for your team and guide them with hands‑on technical expertise. You will be involved in deep technical design discussions and implementations. You will bring your proficiency in application development, software development leadership and detailed SW planning/execution acumen.

You will work with aglobally distributed Agile team in a fast‑paced environment. Your team members will be in Bangalore and will closely collaborate with the development teams in North America

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Lead the design, development, and validation of secure, scalable software architectures and components for assigned products and subsystems.
• Participate in architecture, design, and code reviews, Agile ceremonies, and requirement analysis to ensure technical rigor and alignment.
• Collaborate effectively across time zones with North American R&D and global stakeholders to communicate status, resolve issues, and influence strategic decisions.
• Organize teams and implement development processes that drive high‑efficiency, on‑time delivery in a collaborative and accountable environment.
• Investigate complex software and system problems, translating product requirements into innovative, well‑tested solutions that meet both explicit and implicit needs.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, with 14+ years of experience designing and developing enterprise‑grade software products.
• Proven hands‑on expertise in architecture and backend development using C#.NET, with strong command of software design principles, patterns, domain modeling, and system design.
• Experience building desktop and web applications using .NET Framework 4.5, WPF, WCF, ASP.NET, MVC, Blazor, Razor components, and Visual Studio.complemented by UML modeling and design tools such as Enterprise Architect and MS Visio.
• Solid understanding of database technologies including MongoDB and PostgreSQL, performance tuning and debugging (dotTrace, NProfiler), and CI/CD practices using tools such as Jenkins and TeamCity.
• Strong communication, analytical, and time‑management skills, with the ability to collaborate across time zones and manage multiple priorities effectively.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Driving the design and development of scientific or analytical instrumentation software, with hands‑on expertise in regulated domains such as life sciences or diagnostics
• Experience delivering AI‑powered platform capabilities or applications, including working knowledge of LLM‑based systems, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG), agentic workflows, or intelligent automation patterns.
