Job summary

SCIEX, a Danaher operating company, is seeking a Lead Software Engineer in Bengaluru to plan and conduct verification for software products within an agile team. The role is on-site in Bengaluru and collaborates with teams in Toronto, Canada.

You will define test strategies, plans, and infrastructure, review verification plans, and drive end-to-end testing with automation and manual approaches. Strong leadership and mentoring are essential to guide cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of manual testing and system verification.
• Experience leading teams and owning end-to-end test deliverables.
• Strong knowledge of RDBMS concepts (Postgres, SQL, Oracle, SQL Server).
• Ability to mentor and manage multi-functional, remote teams.

Responsibilities

• Define test strategy, test plans, and test infrastructure; estimate and execute automation and manual tests.
• Write and review Software Verification Plans; lead formal large-scale test events.
• Define test scenarios and scripts; troubleshoot issues within the test system.
• Participate in requirements, architecture, and design reviews to shape test strategy.
• Collaborate with development, automation, and UX teams to align testing approaches.
• Mentor team members and facilitate discussion across departments.

The Lead Software Engineer is responsible for will leverage their experience to plan and conduct all levels of verification against our software products within an agile team of designers and developers. The candidate will use the test tools provided and agile processes to assist developers, ensure that the products work as expected and manage the tools, frameworks and verification environments. The team member will be located in Bengaluru and will closely collaborate with the teams in Toronto, Canada.

This position reports to the engineering manager and is part of the Software Verification located in Bengaluru and will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Responsible for definition of Software test Strategy, test plan, test Infrastructure, Planning, estimation and Execution of Automation and Manual test cases and Investigation of identified issues (root cause analysis, reproducibility steps etc.).
• Demonstrated ability to write and review Software Verification Plans and organize, lead, and execute formal large-scale test events.
• Define test plans, test scenarios and manual test scripts, utilize testing tools for functional and regression testing and Ability to understand and troubleshoot issues within the entire test system.
• Participate in requirements, architecture, and design reviews to come up with appropriate test strategy.
• Excellent communication skills, ability to quickly make and influence technical decisions as part of the product development and drive open issues to a successful closure.
• Collaboration with other functions (development, Automation and UX) to define the appropriate approach for the above-mentioned activities.
• Support the Manager for team activities and mentoring other team members and Facilitate discussion within the team and with other departments.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, with at least 10 years of experience in manual testing and system verification. Demonstrated experience leading teams, driving test strategies, and taking end-to-end ownership of deliverables is required.
• Strong knowledge of and experience with RDBMS concepts, Postgres, SQL, Oracle and/or SQL Server
• Very strong problem resolution, negotiating and decision-making skills and Experience with Test and Defect Management Tools.
• Ability to juggle and prioritize mentoring along with individual contribution.
• Ability to work with multi-functional and remote teams.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Team player who has a proven track record of working effectively in a cross-functional, matrix environment and with user groups. Exceptional attention to detail, Strong organizational, time management and prioritization skills, Comfortable with ambiguity
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact well with people at all levels within an organization. Proven ability to make decisions, positively influence others, and work well in a fast-moving environment.
