Job summary

Safe is seeking a Staff Engineer to lead architecture, scale systems, and guide engineers to build products that predict and prevent cyber breaches at global scale. You will shape product direction and create real-world impact within a fast-growing cybersecurity platform.

You will mentor teams, drive code quality, and own critical cloud-native solutions across multi-tenant environments. This role suits those who blend hands-on coding with strategic leadership.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience as a Staff/Senior Engineer or equivalent.
• Backend expertise in Node.js, Python, or Go.
• Hands-on experience building APIs in TypeScript.

Responsibilities

• Be the Tech Leader: mentor engineers, champion clean code, and drive technical excellence.
• Architect at Scale: design secure, high-performance multi-tenant microservices for heavy load.
• Code Like a Pro: conduct deep-dive code reviews and stay hands-on when it matters.
• Master the Cloud: architect solutions using AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, EC2, S3, RDS).
• Collaborate & Influence: work with Product, Design, and GTM teams to align tech with business.
• Drive Delivery: own the roadmap, lead execution, ensure on-time releases.

The Role: Staff Engineer

We’re looking for a Staff Engineer who lives for solving the hard stuff. You’ll be the technical force multiplier—leading architecture, scaling systems, and guiding engineers to build products that help predict and prevent cyber breaches before they happen.

• Solve Complex Problems: Debug, diagnose, and dismantle architectural challenges with finesse.

• 8+ years of experience as a Staff/Senior Engineer or equivalent.




• Strong backend chops in Node.js, Python, Go, or similar.




• Hands-on experience building APIs in TypeScript (Express is a plus).




• Bonus points if you’ve played with modern frontends (React, Angular, Vue).




• Deep database expertise (SQL & NoSQL), with performance tuning skills.




• Proven success building on the cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure).




• Containerization know-how - Kubernetes or Docker is your playground.




• You’ve built and scaled platforms that handle real-world load.




• Strong leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration skills.




• You love tackling tough architecture challenges head-on.




• Familiarity with DevOps and IaC (CloudFormation is a plus).
