Back‑End Staff Engineer / Architect (Bangalore, India – onsite)

Reporting

Report to: Director of Engineering

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high‑quality, scalable, performance‑oriented features using modern back‑end technologies.
• Focus on consistent delivery of software and systems that move the company toward short and long‑term objectives.
• Build prototypes to explore new scenarios and optimizations of existing solutions.
• Work with stakeholders to perform root‑cause analysis and devise solution approaches.
• Review design and code, and approve solution approaches.
• Work independently on projects in a self‑directed and mature manner.
• Provide career guidance and mentoring for all team members and assist the manager with reviews.
• Translate requirements into technical solutions and seamless user experiences.
• Collaborate with Product Management, UX, Backend Engineers, SDET, and Support to deliver industry‑leading features.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, adhering to best practices in back‑end development.
• Conduct code reviews to ensure quality and consistency.
• Drive adoption of new tools, frameworks, and methodologies to enhance development efficiency and code performance.
• Multitask to provide needed input efficiently on development activities.
• Share knowledge across teams to foster a culture of learning and improvement.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional experience in back‑end development with a strong portfolio.
• Experience in development and architecture of cloud applications and infrastructure.
• 8+ years of designing software in fast‑paced environments.
• Architecting microservices and scalable cloud apps.
• Experience in memory‑leak detection and performance tuning.
• Experience with open‑source technologies.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent troubleshooting and debugging abilities for web applications.
• Strong knowledge of core Java, JEE, JSON, and REST APIs (JAX‑RS, Spring, Spark Java).
• Hands‑on experience with logging (Log4j) and unit testing (JUnit, TestNG, Mockito, EasyMock, RestAssured).
• Experience with Spring and Hibernate, and SQL databases (MS SQL, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Version control systems: GIT, SVN; build tools: Gradle, Maven; CI/CD knowledge.
• Strong grasp of data structures (XML, JSON) and processing technologies.
• Knowledge of threading, socket programming, IPC; OOP, design patterns, TDD, IoC, DI; serialization/deserialization.

Nice to Have

• Experience with RPA platforms or APA.
• Front‑end technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS, AJAX, JQuery, Spring Boot, Netflix OSS).
• Cloud experience: NoSQL, Big Data, Azure, AWS.
• Web API, MVC.
• CI/CD pipeline and deployment processes.
