Job summary

BuildxPartners in Chennai, hybrid, seeks a Senior DevOps Leader to drive infrastructure modernization. Lead a team of experienced engineers while contributing to architecture, CI/CD, and automation for large-scale Linux-based build and validation ecosystems.

The ideal candidate will balance hands-on coding in Python with mentoring responsibilities, advancing CI/CD practices, automation, monitoring, and secure, scalable system design.

Qualifications

• Must have strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS, IS, or related field.
• Approximately 10+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or similar roles.
• Prior experience leading engineers or managing technical initiatives for at least 2 years.
• Solid expertise in Linux systems administration and scripting (Shell).
• Strong programming experience in Python.
• Hands-on experience with configuration management and automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or SaltStack.
• Familiarity with container-based ecosystems including Docker, Kubernetes, or similar platforms.
• Experience working with monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Partner with engineering, QA, and internal technology teams to design and maintain a robust, scalable, and secure build and testing environment
• Enhance and support tools used for test execution, orchestration, and scheduling across development workflows
• Continuously analyze system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements to ensure stability and efficiency
• Manage infrastructure lifecycle activities including updates, upgrades, and security patching
• Implement and maintain monitoring solutions to track infrastructure health, system behavior, and application performance
• Drive automation initiatives using configuration management tools to streamline provisioning and deployments
• Develop and maintain clear technical documentation covering system architecture, processes, and troubleshooting practices

Role Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned DevOps professional to take on a leadership role in driving infrastructure and automation excellence.
