Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a data-driven Machine Learning / Data Science professional to design and operate scalable ML solutions for our marketplace platform. You will work with data engineers and analysts to deliver data products, monitor data quality, and iterate on models across stores, apps, and websites.

You will own the ML lifecycle from experimentation to production, applying both statistical methods and modern ML techniques while collaborating with product and business stakeholders to drive

Qualifications

• Foundations in machine learning and statistics.
• Experience with web service patterns and CI/CD.
• Familiarity with distributed computing technologies.
• Experience with supervised and unsupervised ML on real-world problems.
• Strong Python coding and package development skills.
• Experience building ML solutions from data to production.

Responsibilities

• Build scalable end-to-end data science solutions for data products.
• Consult with product and business stakeholders to deploy ML solutions.
• Scale ML algorithms and statistical models on large data volumes.
• Own MLOps lifecycle including data monitoring and model monitoring workflows.

Job description

• Build reusable technologies for customer acquisition, merchant onboarding and empowerment, and seamless stakeholder experiences
• Optimize tariffs and assortment according to the Everyday Low Cost philosophy
• Create personalized omnichannel experiences across stores, mobile apps, and websites
• Design, develop, and operate large-scale distributed Marketplace systems
• Build scalable end-to-end data science solutions for data products
• Work with data engineers and analysts to develop ML- and statistics-driven data quality and continuous data monitoring workflows
• Scale advanced machine learning algorithms and complex statistical models on large volumes of data
• Own the MLOps lifecycle, including data monitoring, data science code refactoring, and model monitoring workflows
• Consult with product and business stakeholders to build, scale, and deploy holistic machine learning solutions
• Follow industry best practices, extend machine learning research and practice, and drive innovation
• Promote company policies, procedures, mission, values, ethics, and integrity standards

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 4 years' experience in an analytics related field; OR Master's degree in one of these fields and 2 years' experience; OR 6 years' experience in an analytics or related field
• Knowledge of the foundations of machine learning and statistics
• Experience with REST and gRPC web service standards and related patterns
• Experience architecting solutions with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery
• Familiarity with distributed in-memory computing technologies
• Experience with supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithms on real-world problems
• Strong Python coding and package development skills
• Experience with Big Data and analytics technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and MapReduce
• Expert in SQL/Hive and ability to work with Spark
• Ability to refactor data science code and collaborate with data scientists in developing ML solutions
• Experience as a full-stack data scientist taking solutions to production
• Experience developing metrics instrumentation for real-time and remote troubleshooting/performance monitoring
• Good effective written and verbal communication skills
• Team player with good work ethics
• Mandatory skills: Machine Learning, Big Data Skills, Python, R
• Preferred educational qualifications in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering or a related area are optional and excluded from minimum credential determination
