You will be the most senior individual contributor on the data engineering team, setting technical direction and owning the most complex parts of the platform.Role & Responsibilities:• Own the end-to-end Medallion Architecture design: Bronze raw ingestion, Silver cleansed and conformed, Gold business-ready layers• Define and enforce data modelling standards, partitioning strategies and naming conventions across the platform• Build complex transformation pipelines using PySpark, dbt and Delta Live Tables• Drive the adoption of Databricks Unity Catalog for data governance, lineage and access control• Design and implement streaming ingestion patterns using Kafka, Event Hub and Structured Streaming• Partner with ML engineers to deliver feature engineering pipelines from the Gold layer• Conduct architecture reviews and provide technical mentorship to mid-level engineers• Contribute to hiring, technical assessments and onboarding for new team membersRequired Skills & Experience:• 6+ years of data engineering experience with deep Azure and Databricks expertise• Expert-level knowledge of Medallion Architecture patterns in a production Lakehouse environment• Strong PySpark, SQL and Python skills; dbt experience preferred• Hands-on Delta Live Tables and Databricks Workflows experience• Experience with real-time streaming: Kafka, Azure Event Hub or Structured Streaming• Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP-203 or DP-700) or Databricks Professional certification preferred• Track record of technical leadership without direct management responsibilityWhat We Offer:• Hybrid working — 3 days Gurugram office, 2 days remote• Salary ₹30–45L based on experience• Work on data infrastructure that powers global sports analytics and consumer insights• Senior individual contributor track with strong growth path to principal engineerThis is the role for a data engineer who wants maximum technical ownership and influence without moving into management — an architect-level IC position at a well-funded global enterprise.
