Job summary

Emergent seeks a seasoned Staff Backend Engineer to lead Python-based backend architecture in a high-performance, scalable fintech environment in Bengaluru. You will design robust systems, optimize compute and I/O, and collaborate with product teams to translate requirements into resilient, scalable solutions.

The role requires 7+ years in backend development, deep CS fundamentals, and strong system design skills, with experience in concurrent, data-intensive workloads and modern CI/CD practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of backend development with Python in production.
• Proven experience in scaling compute- and I/O-intensive applications.
• Strong CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, system design.
• Experience handling concurrent requests at scale and optimizing large-scale systems.
• Familiarity with Redis, PostgreSQL, and ClickHouse.
• Experience in fintech applications is a plus.
• Strong CI/CD practices.
