Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior engineer to drive the technical direction of agentic AI initiatives in Bengaluru. The role involves designing, building, and operating production-grade AI systems, owning coordination across platforms, and mentoring engineers to raise the technical bar.

You will evaluate emerging models, integrate LLMs, and collaborate with risk/compliance teams to ensure secure, scalable deployments while delivering enterprise-ready improvements.

Responsibilities

Drive technical direction for agentic AI initiatives across architecture patterns, autonomy boundaries, and system design.
Design, build, and operate production-grade agentic AI systems used across multiple products.
Own and evolve agent frameworks, orchestration layers, planning, tool use, memory strategies, RAG pipelines, LLM infrastructure, inference, model gateways, and evaluation, observability, and safety tooling.
Lead technical design reviews and guide teams through autonomy, safety, reliability, scalability, and cost tradeoffs.
Partner across teams to deliver complex agentic AI initiatives from concept to production.
Evaluate emerging models, techniques, and agentic patterns and translate them into enterprise-ready improvements.
Mentor senior engineers and raise the technical bar for agentic AI development.
Architect and own coordination across multiple platforms, ensuring scalability, resiliency, and compliance with global standards.
Build proofs of concept to experiment with new technologies, databases, and application infrastructure.
Pursue innovative technologies and open-source products for low-latency distributed systems.
Drive a culture of innovation and experimentation.
Provide technical consulting support to Global Product teams and regional stakeholders for secure product rollouts.
Partner with risk, compliance, and cybersecurity teams on regulatory and security requirements.
Work with Principal Engineers and Principal Architects to incorporate new technologies and delivery methods into scalable software solutions.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree is listed in the job metadata as the study level
Computer Science or Information Systems degree, or equivalent with at least 8 years of work experience
Proficiency in Python, Go, and TypeScript
Experience with REST, gRPC, and potentially tRPC
Experience with AWS and/or GCP and Kubernetes
Experience with event-driven distributed architectures, including Kafka
Experience with LangGraph, LangChain, Airflow, or similar orchestration frameworks
Experience integrating commercial and open-source LLMs into agentic workflows
Experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel, or CrewAI
Model-level experience with PyTorch and the Hugging Face ecosystem; some exposure to TensorFlow
Strong schema, validation, and state-management practices using Pydantic and Zod
Experience building intelligent solutions with GenAI and modern technology stacks
Experience building and delivering large-scale enterprise systems or products
Ability to create and deliver effective presentations to senior leadership
Ability to partner and influence across business and functional lines
Exceptional leadership skills to support diverse internal and external talent

Core Competencies

Demonstrates expertise in architecting and developing agentic AI systems, with proficiency in Python, Go, and TypeScript. Capable of leading cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, compliant, and innovative solutions while mentoring engineers and driving technical excellence.
