Job summary

Forrester, a global research and advisory leader, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join the European finance team. The role focuses on administering month-end and quarter-end closes for EMEA entities, ensuring accuracy under GAAP, and maintaining balance sheet integrity.

You will collaborate with payroll, tax, and external firms while driving process improvements. Responsibilities include intercompany accounting, fixed asset management, ad hoc analyses, and aiding auditors.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate payroll liaison and liaise with local accounting firms for accurate reporting.
• Recommend and implement improvements to automate close processes.
• Assist with VAT and wage tax returns and statutory tax filings.
• Support management accounts and respond to audit requirements.

About This Role:

Reporting into the Accounting Manager, the Staff Accountant will be responsible for a broad range of activities concentrating mainly on the administration of Forrester EMEA entities, as well as supporting projects on the finance team. This individual will work as part of the European finance team to maintain high quality and accurate reporting and to drive projects focusing on efficiency and process improvements.

Job Description:

Administer the month-end and quarter-end close in accordance with GAAP, including reconciliation of all general ledger accounts for selected EMEA entities. Maintain the fixed asset register, bank reconciliation, other balance sheet account specifications, and intercompany transactions. Liaise with the payroll team regarding the accurate and timely processing of payroll. Liaise and manage relationships with local accounting firms to ensure accurate financial reporting. Recommend and implement improvements to further automate close processes. Complete the VAT returns and any wage tax returns for the entities. Generate analyses of significant accounts and perform ad hoc financial analysis as needed. Oversee monthly and quarterly management accounts. Attend to the requirements of statutory auditors and assist with tax filings. Assist the team with finance projects. Other duties as necessary.

Job Requirements:

Studying towards accounting qualification, part qualified ACCA/ACA/CIMA or local equivalent. At least four years of work experience in a finance team in a similar role. Proven analytical skills and solid business experience. Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and business partnering skills are essential. Must be able to work well independently as well as in a team. Good working knowledge of financial applications and Microsoft Excel. Someone who is organized and flexible, self-motivated, and has strong attention to detail. Experience working with Peoplesoft, Concur or Floqast is a plus.
