Job summary

Assurant Warranty Solutions (India) Private Limited in Bengaluru/Hyderabad seeks a Senior Technology Automation Engineer to design, develop, and run complex automation across the enterprise. You will build automation with Python, PowerShell, Bash, and cloud-native tech, while owning CI/CD pipelines, IaC, and API integrations.

Qualifications

Job Purpose

The Senior Technology Automation Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, operating, and continuously improving enterprise automation solutions that enable automated service fulfillment, remediation, reporting, and platform operations across Assurant's technology ecosystem. This role combines software engineering, cloud engineering, DevOps, platform engineering, and operational ownership responsibilities. The engineer is accountable for delivering automation capabilities while ensuring the ongoing stability, security, compliance, lifecycle management, and operational excellence of automation platforms, applications, cloud services, and supporting third‑party technologies. The role partners closely with Infrastructure, Cloud, Security, Service Management, Architecture, Risk, Compliance, and vendor teams to reduce manual effort, improve operational efficiency, strengthen governance, enhance security, and increase platform reliability. Additionally, the role is responsible for identifying opportunities to leverage AI‑assisted automation technologies to improve service delivery, operational effectiveness, and user experience across the enterprise.

Location: Bengaluru/Hyderabad, India. Working Hours: 3:30 PM IST to 12:30 AM IST.

Responsibilities

• Promote reuse of enterprise automation components, standards, and best practices.
• Contribute to automation strategy, platform roadmaps, and engineering standards.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance.
• Provide production support using tools such as Ansible/Tower, APIM, Atlassian Suite, Azure DevOps, GitHub Enterprise, MuleSoft, Octopus, SailPoint, Salesforce, Service Fabric, ServiceNow, SSRS, etc.
• Perform incident response, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
• Support audit, compliance, regulatory, and risk management activities.
• Ensure compliance with security, risk, operational, and technology governance policies.
• Draft and maintain operational procedures and runbooks for managed service team execution.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related STEM discipline.
• Minimum five years of experience across Automation Engineering, DevOps Engineering, Cloud Engineering, Software Engineering, Platform Engineering, or Systems Engineering.
• Experience supporting enterprise production environments and mission‑critical platforms.
• System Administration: Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu), Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, PowerShell, Bash, IIS, web hosting, enterprise file systems, performance monitoring, troubleshooting, VMware vSphere/Hyper‑V, SSL/TLS, PKI, backup, disaster recovery.
• Software Development & Automation: Python, PowerShell, Bash, REST & SOAP APIs, GitHub Flow, GitOps, CI/CD (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions), Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, Azure Kubernetes Service, API management, MuleSoft, Octopus, SailPoint, Salesforce, ServiceNow, SSRS.
• Cloud & Platform: Microsoft Azure PaaS services (App Services, Functions, Cosmos DB, Data Factory, Key Vault, SQL Database), Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure DevOps, Azure API Management, API management technologies.

Preferred Requirements

• Master’s degree in related STEM discipline.
• Experience participating in an Automation or Platform Engineering COE.
• Terraform and Terraform Cloud expertise.
• Ansible Automation Platform experience.
• SailPoint IDM and Okta IDP knowledge.
• Experience supporting SOX, SOC, ISO, PCI compliance frameworks.
• Azure certifications.
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
