Job description

Sr Technical Program Manager, Selection Monitoring

We are seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager (Sr. TPM) to join the Selection Monitoring team. In this role, you will drive and deliver complex, cross-functional technical programs that are critical to the selection discovery and extraction components of Amazon's Selection Gap Closure and World Product Catalog (WPC) initiatives. You will operate at the intersection of multiple two-pizza teams (2PTs) and collaborate closely with external stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of large-scale programs. The systems you will work across leverage Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) extensively for information extraction, content understanding, and intelligent automation — and a key outcome of your work will be reducing Human-in-the-Loop (HITL) dependencies to enable fully autonomous, scalable operations.

Key job responsibilities
  • Program Leadership: Own and drive end-to-end delivery of complex technical projects spanning multiple 2PTs across SDO, ensuring alignment on goals, timelines, and dependencies
  • Cross-Team Coordination: Serve as the central coordination point across internal SDO teams and external stakeholders, managing interdependencies, resolving blockers, and driving alignment across organizational boundaries
  • Technical Depth: Engage deeply with large-scale information extraction, data processing, and orchestration systems — many of which are powered by GenAI/LLM-based models — to understand technical constraints, identify risks, and drive informed trade‑off decisions
  • HITL Reduction & Automation: Drive programs that systematically reduce Human‑in‑the‑Loop interventions by leveraging GenAI/LLM capabilities, enabling the organization to scale operations without proportional headcount growth
  • Selection Gap Closure – Discovery & Extraction: Drive the selection discovery and extraction workstreams that feed into the broader Selection Gap Closure program, including source identification, web crawling, and product data extraction from off‑Amazon websites World Product Catalog (WPC) – Discovery
  • Extraction: Own the SDO‑scoped delivery of WPC’s selection discovery and extraction pipeline — ensuring product data is reliably discovered, crawled, and extracted at scale to feed downstream ASIN creation and catalog enrichment systems
  • GenAI/LLM Program Delivery: Coordinate the development and deployment of LLM‑powered solutions across the selection discovery pipeline — including autonomous web navigation, intelligent content extraction, and automated data transformation
  • Stakeholder Management: Communicate program status, risks, and milestones to senior leadership and cross‑functional partners; influence without authority to drive outcomes across teams
  • Operational Excellence: Establish and maintain program mechanisms (e.g., status reviews, risk registers, dependency tracking) to ensure predictable delivery and early identification of issues
  • Scaling & Automation: Identify opportunities to improve program efficiency through better tooling, AI‑driven automation, and process optimization across data pipelines and orchestration workflows
Basic Qualifications
  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
  • 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi‑million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
