Job description

Gigamon is seeking a self-motivated experienced Sr. Staff QA Engineer for a full-time position. This position requires a strategic thinker; a problem solver who is a self-starter and self-motivated; well organized, flexible, and effective with multiple simultaneous tasks.

What you’ll do:

1. Understanding the feature requirement and preparing the test strategy document.
2. Preparing the test plan based on the feature requirements.
3. Develop automation scripts for the feature.
4. Part of the Agile team and help the team to meet the quality goals.
5. Review product documentation and provide feedback to Technical Publications.
6. Field escalations; working with support and development in troubleshooting and reproducing field reported escalation issues.
7. Learn from customer bugs and fill test coverage gaps.
8. Bug creation, reproductions, and daily management.
9. Test project lead on occasion.

What you’ve done:

1. 12+ years of hands-on QA testing experience including:
2. Creating, implementing and reviewing manual/automated test cases and test suites.
3. Good hands-on experience in automating using Python.
4. Experience with test case management tools such as Mercury Center, TestLink, etc.
5. Working knowledge in TCP/IP, L2/L3 protocols, L4 – L7 protocols.
6. Knowledge of and/or experience with security and Mobility a plus.
7. Strong network configuration and troubleshooting skills.
8. Must be familiar with packet capture tools such as Wireshark, SnifferPro and are able to read/understand the capture.
9. Scripting experience a plus; Python (Mandatory), TCL, Perl, Expect.

Who you are:

1. Experience with network testing equipment such as IXIA and Spirent.
2. Experience with bug tracking systems such as Bugzilla, Jira, etc.
3. Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
4. Project/Test lead experience a plus.
5. Mentor junior QA engineers in the QA process and technology.
