Zscaler in Bangalore is hiring a Senior Staff Site Reliability Engineer to own the reliability and operational integrity of a global fleet spanning GCP, AWS and on‑prem infrastructure in a hybrid role. You will build self‑healing automation and embed observability across the platform.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in Production/Platform/Infrastructure Engineering in cloud environments.
• Deep Linux/Unix systems mastery and debugging skills.
• Hands-on experience with GCP and/or AWS and IaC tooling (Terraform, Ansible).
• Proficiency in Python and Go for automation.
• Understanding of AI/ML technologies in the relevant domain.

Responsibilities

Role

We are looking for a Senior Staff Site Reliability Engineer to join our team. This is a hybrid role based in Bangalore, reporting to the Director, Engineering in the Production Engineeringand Reliability team in India. You will own the reliability and operational integrity of a global fleet spanning GCP, AWS,
and bare-metal infrastructure — building self-healing automation, hardening provisioningworkflows, and embedding observability into every layer of the platform.

• Develop production-grade automation inAnsible, Python and/or Go for bare-metal provisioning, IPMI/Redfish-basedhardware lifecycle operations, and autonomous remediation
• Design and implementfault-tolerant provisioning systems with self-healing and auto-remediationcapabilities
• Develop telemetry pipelines for hardware and system monitoring — integrating metrics, logs, and distributed tracing (Prometheus, Grafana, Victoria Metrics, Telegraf)
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions and contribute to Agile/Scrum processes like sprint planning and retrospectives
• Partner directly with SWEteams to define and enforce production-readiness criteria — including SLOs,health-check standards, and rollback requirements

What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)

• Foundational understanding of AI/ML technologies and experience leveraging, securing, or positioning AI-driven solutions to optimize outcomes within your functional domain
• 7+ years of Production Engineering, Platform Engineering, or InfrastructureEngineering experience in a Cloud or hybrid environment
• Deep Linux/Unix systems mastery — OS internals, kernel networking, boot pipelines and low-level system debugging
• Hands-on operational experience across GCP and/or AWS alongside on-prem datacenter operations, with a working command of infrastructure-as-code tooling (Terraform, Ansible) for both environments
• Expertise building durable, idempotent, and repeatable automation using Python and/or Go

What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

• Experience implementing AIOps, AI-driven predictive scaling, or automated anomaly detection to optimize cloud infrastructure performance and reliability
• Experience building or operating statefulorchestration systems using Temporal.io, Cadence, or equivalent
• Built and scaled a full observability stack fromscratch
