Job summary

Netskope is seeking a Staff Engineer for the Client team to design, implement, and enhance our Windows client security solutions. You will work on light-weight, high-throughput client software across Windows, Linux, and mobile platforms, focusing on data protection, throughput, and reliability.

You will collaborate with product management, write robust unit tests, and help QA ensure quality. Ideal candidates have 12+ years in endpoint/network/cloud security software and strong C++ skills.

Qualifications

• BS Computer Science required.
• MS Computer Science strongly preferred.
• Experience with Windows OS internals and security endpoints.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and enhance Windows OS client security endpoint agent technologies.
• Write multi-threaded, multi-platform C++ code.
• Understand requirements, research solutions, and design features with high quality, reliability, and scalability.

About the role

The client team creates and enhances the client software that runs on Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, Android, or other operating systems. Easy to use, light‑weight, and deployed to perform at a high throughput, Netskope Client steers user traffic through Netskope’s enterprise security products (Secure Web Gateway (SWG), Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB), Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), Cloud Firewall (CFW), Endpoint DLP) enabling holistic data protection and facilitating SASE deployments. Netskope Client’s centralized configuration, deployment, support, and troubleshooting delivers comprehensive security and control across the borderless modern threat landscape.

What’s in it for you

As a Staff Engineer in the Client team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and enhancing client software for Netskope Cloud Security solutions, and solving some of the most challenging cloud access & data security problems for enterprise customers.

What you will be doing

• Working with a group of brilliant engineers to build Windows OS client security endpoint agent technologies that enable a holistic data security solution.
• Writing multi-threaded/multi-platform code in C++ using the latest software development techniques.
• Understanding requirement specs, researching/finding appropriate solutions, designing/implementing the feature with high quality ensuring reliability, sustainability, scalability, and observability.
• Working with Product Management to understand requirements.
• Writing and executing dev unit test routines for your modules.
• Working with QA to help them better test our product.

Required skills and experience

• 12+ years of work experience in the areas of endpoint, network or cloud security solutions product development.
• Strong programming skills with C++
• Expertise in data structures and algorithms.
• Deep Understanding of TCP/IP Networking Protocols
• Deep Understanding on Windows internals
• Working experience of creating software on Windows
• Knowledge of cryptography techniques.
• Experience with writing multi-platform code.
• Familiarity with web data formats like JSON, XML, MIME, etc.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills. Able to communicate in an open, transparent and consistent manner with team and co-workers.

Education

• BS Computer Science required, MS Computer Science strongly preferred
