Qualifications

• Senior Microsoft SQL Server Developer with 10+ years of experience in database development, ETL solutions, performance tuning, and production support.
• Strong knowledge of T-SQL, stored procedures, functions, views and triggers.
• Experience with query optimisation, performance tuning, and large-volume databases.
• Understanding of Always On/high-availability concepts and data warehousing concepts.
• Experience with ETL/data migration is a plus and agile development experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize complex stored procedures, SSIS packages, SQL Server Agent Jobs, and high-performance database solutions.
• Perform tuning, indexing, and optimization, including partitioning for large databases.
• Provide production support, incident resolution, and root-cause analysis for database performance issues.
• Lead database maintenance, backups, integrity checks, and disaster recovery planning.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, mentor juniors, and participate in code reviews.

Job description

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in Microsoft SQL Server development and database administration support.
• Strong expertise in T-SQL programming and database design.
• Advanced knowledge of relational database concepts, normalization, and data modelling.
• Developing complex Stored Procedures, Functions, Views, and Triggers from scratch.
• Writing highly optimized T-SQL code for large-scale enterprise applications.
• Expertise in temporary tables, table variables, CTEs, cursors, and windowing functions.

ETL Development

• Strong hands-on experience in ETL design, development, deployment, and support.
• Extensive experience using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS). Building complex SSIS packages for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
• Working with multiple data sources including SQL Server, Oracle, Flat Files, Excel, XML, and APIs.

Performance Tuning & Optimization

• Expert in SQL Performance Tuning and Query Optimization.
• Identifying and resolving blocking, deadlocks, and long-running queries.
• Execution Plan analysis and query optimization.
• Index analysis, creation, maintenance, and optimization including Partitioning strategies for large databases.

Database Maintenance

• Backup and Recovery strategy management.
