The Role

Key Responsibilities

Storage Infrastructure Management

• Design, implement, and administer enterprise SAN and NAS environments.

• Manage storage provisioning, allocation, deallocation, and lifecycle management.

• Perform firmware upgrades, technology refreshes, and storage migrations.

• Configure and administer storage replication technologies.

• Conduct storage performance analysis, tuning, and capacity planning.

• Support large‑scale storage environments and business‑critical workloads.

• Administer Cisco SAN fabric including zoning, switch configuration, and troubleshooting.

• Drive storage standardisation and operational best practices.

Backup & Recovery Management

• Design and manage enterprise backup solutions using NetWorker and NetBackup.

• Administer backup infrastructure including Data Domain appliances.

• Define backup policies, retention schedules, and recovery strategies.

• Perform backup failure analysis and restore testing.

• Manage DPA reporting, compliance dashboards, and operational metrics.

• Ensure successful completion of backup, replication, archive, and recovery activities.

• Conduct disaster recovery testing and recovery validation exercises.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for backup reliability and performance.

Incident & Problem Management

• Act as L3/L4 escalation point for critical incidents (P1/P2).

• Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive actions.

• Lead technical resolution during major incidents and service outages.

• Provide recommendations for service stability and risk reduction.

• Partner with vendors and OEM support teams for complex issue resolution.

Architecture & Transformation

• Lead storage and backup modernisation initiatives.

• Drive migrations across platforms and data centres.

• Support cloud integration and hybrid infrastructure strategies.

• Evaluate new technologies and recommend future‑state solutions.

• Develop standards, design documents, and implementation procedures.

Governance & Leadership

• Review and approve technical change implementations.

• Develop operational runbooks and technical documentation.

• Mentor L2/L3 engineers and provide technical leadership.

• Conduct knowledge transfer sessions and technical training.

• Participate in customer governance meetings and service reviews.

• Ensure SLA/SLO compliance and service quality targets are achieved.

Who You Are

Required Experience

Mandatory

• 10 to 15+ years of overall IT Infrastructure experience.

• Minimum 7+ years in Enterprise Storage Administration.

• Minimum 5+ years in Enterprise Backup Administration.

• Experience supporting large‑scale enterprise environments (multi‑PB storage and thousands of backup clients preferred).

• Strong troubleshooting experience across Storage, SAN, and Backup platforms.

• Experience supporting 24x7 mission‑critical environments.
