Job summary

The Sr. Process Engineer II will drive optimization of solar cell production processes, focusing on efficiency, yield, cost, productivity and reliability. Reports to the Principal Engineer and leads a team of technicians to execute daily tasks.

Responsibilities include SME for solar cell process groups, implementing CpK improvements, writing reports, and coordinating with cross-functional and overseas teams to benchmark improvements across production lines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering in chemical, material science, microelectronics or related field
• 3–5 years of experience in solar cell industry or process engineering
• Knowledge in HJT, CVD, PECVD preferred
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Lead and train process technicians to improve daily execution and skills
• Optimize and improve solar cell processes to boost CpK, yield and cost efficiency
• Develop and maintain SOPs, FMEA and control plans for production lines
• Coordinate with cross‑functional teams and overseas affiliates to benchmark improvements

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as Subject Matter Expert for assigned process groups of the manufacturing line including but not limited solar cell manufacturing.
• Optimize and improve solar cell conversion efficiency, yield, reliability and cost associated with the process and implement related projects according to the process KPI and timelines.
• Identify causes, resolve and prevent production line and customer issues by using problem solving methods and best industry practices. Drive for continuous improvement in the process, procedures, materials and equipment. Write and present detailed reports in a timely manner to communicate projects and issues in the production line.
• Lead, manage and train process technicians in carrying daily routine tasks. Ensure continuous skill improvement of the technicians by doing regular training and assessment
• Qualify, stabilize, improve technology and/or product transfer, new processes, materials and equipment to support production and quality requirements. Review and improve process CpK
• Coordinate and work with internal cross functional team and overseas affiliates to benchmark and implement cell efficiency improvement and cost reduction projects
• Create, maintain, improve and continuously update relevant documentation such as SOP, FMEA, Control Plans, OCAP, maintenance procedures and others as required by the company’s quality policy.
• Support other company KPIs such as safety, output, yield, quality, product delivery, company certifications, 5S and other related initiatives as provided by the management
• Complete training to improve technical and leadership skills. Write training materials, conduct training courses and maintain training records of the technicians. Remain current in the industry technology trends.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with major in chemical, material science, microelectronics, or any related field
• At least 3-5 years’ experience in solar cell industry or process engineering function required.
• Knowledge in HJT technology for solar cell manufacturing preferred.
• Knowledge in CVD, PECVD process in solar cell manufacturing preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with team members, other departments, vendors, and other stakeholders.
• Responsible, able to complete tasks independently and on-time, fast learner, with technical and problem-solving skills
• Working knowledge in process engineering, production and quality systems.
• Commitment to safety and quality standards in all aspects of process engineering and maintenance.
• Able to work overtime, off-shift or extended hours to realize 24/7 production requirement, support scheduled / unscheduled process and equipment recovery inside production line or any other situation deemed necessary by the supervisor
